Everton Youth Teams Thread

Bowler looks good on the ball and I think every pen I've seen Sambou take he has sent the keeper the wrong way.

..Bowler certainly looks direct and full of confidence, it must take these very young lads time to settle after a big move. Sambou seems to wait until the keeper commits before slotting in the other corner. It’s a technique that takes a bit of nerve and he could come unstuck if the goalie keeps still.

So far this season Bowler has certainly looked the pick of our attacking players. I’ve been pleasantly surprised about the level of play from Broadhead and Sambou, two players who you have to wonder if they’ve got that extra needed to break through but fair play to them they’re delivering , all be it at U23s level. Both may need loans to assess them further.

I thought that technique was what Sigurdsson used on the weekend, but then he punted it straight into the bar. Interesting that Bowler looked to be playing on the right from the highlights, I'm not sure what flank he prefers but given our lack of natural right sided wingers it's good that we have a promising lad in the u23's there ready.

Bowler reminds me a little bit of Patrick Roberts. Similar type player, just a couple of years younger, but he didn't have the same lauded youth career that Patrick had. Seems to have gone off the radar lately at youth International level.

That Roberts was ridiculously good at U17 level and had a decent start to his professional career but seems to have went backwards a little in the last year or so. I'd honestly say tho than Kenny was the player of the tournament (at least from the matches I seen) at both the U17 and U20 tournaments that England won.

I'd agree with you re Kenny mate. Especially in the U20 tournament. But RBs never win player of the tournament awards as I'm sure you're aware.

It was weird he was voted MOTM in 3 games out of 5 games, including the final and still went to Solanke.

they don't seem to these days. A lot of pens these days are a bit soft and never in the corner, i don't get why keepers don't just wait until they've kicked it before moving
