26 - Everton take the lead as Antony Evans bends a free-kick into the corner.
Do the winners of the group go to to quarter finals ?That Evans goal proved to be the winner at Sheff utd-though sheff utd hit the underside of the bar in injury time

Had myself confused thinking lolDo the winners of the group go to to quarter finals ?
Yep that’s it in a nutshell, Phillips missed virtually all his two Scholar years due to injury, but was given a one year contract to July 19. I’m guessing they’ve got some kind of dispensation/rule which allows him to play overage in the u18 league. He's too old. I think the cut off for youth cup is players born 1st Semptember 2000. Whereas the cut off for u18 is born after 1st January 2000. He would normally have been promoted to u23 or released like the rest of his scholar year but I think he had some bad injury problems.
Cheers, are all the premier league clubs in this competition ?Had myself confused thinking lol
top 2 from each group make the final 16
The last 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will all be one-off knockout ties. If the ties are level after 90 minutes, they go to extra-time and then penalties if the teams still can't be separated.
cant see man city, spurs, chelsea, arsenal, man utd to name a few,Liverpool/Leicester are in to name just those 2 of ones in this comp at the minuteCheers, are all the premier league clubs in this competition ?
On paper we should thrash Sunderland at home anyway, but it would be great to see our best u18 s playing together including Gordon , John and Astley....I presume the line-up suggests the U18 element are being kept for the FA Youth Cup.

Yep no reason not to play him , except to give Sunderland an even chance. Adeydoyin didn’t play last Saturday , maybe injured?, it looked like we had four midfielders and two attackers . So not sure who we’d play if Adeydoyin and Phillips not available, maybe Schoolboy Lewis Dobbin, now that would be exciting...I presume Simms is qualified to play?

Not that I have, it’s the usual frustrating black hole of information when it comes to updates on injuries, you could include Matty Foulds on the injured list too. Then there’s a couple of promising u18 defenders, Michael Collins and Elliott Richards who seem to have disappeared without trace, presumably injured....any update on Gibson, such a shame he’s suffering injuries at such a critical phase?
