Everton Youth Teams Thread

I didn’t realise we hadn’t played for six weeks, but surely we keep them primed at Finch Farm, it seems to me that we don’t take this competition as seriously we did a few years ago. Maybe we will buck up and improve further into the run.

We do take it seriously, we always play our strongest 11. Players that are normally playing for the u23s drop down if they are eligible.
We just don't seem to ever progress very far in last decade+

This is 1st game stoke u18s have played at the BET 365 Stadium since april 2017 when they played a 2 legged FA YOUTH CUP GAME v Man city, they lost 3-2 as well as 3-2 in the away leg

....many thanks for finding and sharing that link, much appreciated.

Sounded like Astley stood up when his team most needed, very encouraging.

....amazing change in fortunes for the keeper. Standing behind the line is fine, but it’s standing a yard in front that the referee might have been more concerned about.
Yeah, thats why i put it,rare you see a keeper doing that, usually as you say hes on the line then jumps about 3/4 yards forward as kick is took
The everton v man utd u18s league game is on man utd tv,and if man utd get through i expect the 5th round game to be live as man utds 4th round game with brighton is on man utd tv

....looks a good size that lad. I’m a bit old school in that I like a tall goalkeeper.

Astley is developing nicely into a fine young defender and leader. He had a great game at right back against Leicester on Monday and another 90 mins 3 days later for the u18 this time at CB. Stick a “ Handle me with care” label on his back and let him quietly develop in the U23s and u18s.
