Everton Youth Teams Thread

Everton loanee Korede Adedoyin has returned to his parent club. The 18-year-old spent the first 6 months of the 2019/20 season further developing himself at Hamilton, however, with tough competition for places, the decision was mutually agreed between both clubs for a return to Everton.
Korede leaves with the best wishes from everyone at the club and we thank him for his time spent at Hamilton.

Not unexpected and one of our oddest loans, and we’ve made some odd ones. Good to have him back, his contract expires this summer so he needs to get U23 games to prove himself and get another contract.

...always looked half decent to me, but my assumption is that the club might have already decided to release him. There might be valid reasons, but I’d have hoped an 18 year old PL prospect would’ve had some impact at Hamilton.

Another of our kids who suffered an injury during his two year Scholarship, but as you say looked decent scoring freely in tandem with Simms. The SPL is dismissed by many as a rubbish league , but like any league managers get sacked if they don’t perform and it’s a big step up and risk putting in an 18 year old who hasn’t played even U23s football. Even in Scotland promising 18 year olds are likely to go on loan to lower divisions.

How often did he play for any of Hamilton’s teams. It was a very strange loan deal as many have commented on, the lad has plenty of speed and shines for periods of games, but too often he disappears from games and never really looks like he is focussed or interested.

...I absolutely agree about any professional league being competitive, where points are so vital to managers but you would hope one of our scholars was showing enough to impress. I can only assume he was sent there in the hope Hamilton gave him a permanent deal.

To be fair he might get a chance in our u23 if Charsley and Evans find clubs and Gordon is needed with the first team there isn't going to be too many attacking options. Sometimes it's about taking your opportunity he'll have learnt up there about the tougher side of football. I bet the facilities aren't as good and not playing will hopefully have shown him that side of the coin and spur him on to take any chance he gets.

Has Joao Virginia been recalled yet? I'm hoping he will might as well start building his confidence back here than rotting away down there.
I believe he has, but previous to being offically recalled was already training here sometimes as he wasn't getting any game time there.
