16 year old Swedish midfield Imam Jagne of BK Häcken is set to join Everton U23’s this week. He has signed a 3 year contract

I'm not sure he will be U23s. It was widely reported, when the last 16 year old Scandinavian player joined us, (Seb Kristensen) that he was going to be U23s. I think this could be hype, I suspect he would go to U18 first

Yep, it was him skinning full backs and scoring a goal in the near post. The only difference from last night was that on the video he was playing kids

Can I just say mate you've given a great insight into the goings on at Finch Farm since you joined the forum. Normally we're starved on here of news related to our youngsters. Do you by chance have a lad at the academy or would you rather not say

Thanks. Honestly on this one I know no more than anyone else. My comment is purely speculation. I have drawn comparisons to the Seb Kristensen move. Danish media stated he was to join the U23s, but in reality he went to U18s. I think the same will happen here. If he proves himself I guess he will get to showcase his talents for the U23s. I wish the lad well. I do follow the academy with interest.

...I wonder if ‘U23s’ is terminology to reflect a player is joining the youngsters rather than the 1st team squad.

I don't know to be honest. Regarding the signing of Seb Kristensen the Everton website always said he was joining the U18s. It was other media outlets that said U23s

youth thread comfortably the least hostile of any of the Everton threads.. it’s the thread that got me to sign up... just folk with a common interest in the development and success of our up and comers...all holding thumbs for that next big thing...

Post away stuff you hear mate - this is a normal thread compared to other's lol - The like's of the Injury news like the cut to the leg of Cannon think it was last week or so no one would have a clue about that. There are good people in this thread that know there stuff about certain players etc, I usually just post the team/scorers etc if i see them as they happen or if we are Live etc if i see that, while others know all little details about players and what they maybe be like and so on
Like Dobbin is suppose to be out upto a month etc with thigh strain

....not surprised. I posted a week or so that his time with us might come to an end with the recent CM purchases, although he played a few times on the right last season.
