The 90's was an interesting time as you say. Branch, Cadamateri, Jeffers, Rooney, Vaughan and Anichebe all within 10 years. Lads like Chadwick and Jevons who also got some game time in that too.

....I’m so old I played lots of representative football with Branch’s Dad, he was a classy defender & was an apprentice with the Reds in the same group as Dave Fairclough.

Indeed, hopefully he gets game time against Chelsea , maybe too early for Dobbin to start yet . The intriguing thing for me is he can get u23 game time this season . In one match , possibly a pre season friendly, Unsworth had him playing deeper on the right as a playmaker , as opposed to an out and out striker ,a kind of James role but with pace!

Wow mad that. Was he a red too? Always got the sense Branch was a blue?

I watched back one of our old season reviews recently, and while it's only highlights Branch looked very impressive when he 1st broke in. More so than I remembered.

Given his progression and the amount of youth teamers travelling with the first team this season, I do wonder where Mohamed Ali Cho would be with the club at this point had he stayed. Not saying he made the wrong decision for himself but having a left footed right-wing of his level would've made things interesting, or he could still be in the U18s for us.
