My main take away from tonight's game was it could be a long season if Tyrers injury is long term. Leban doesn't even look 6 foot and looked a bag of nerves all night. Probably where we are missing Dan Rose

The back line were scared stiff of Gordon all night who even at 16 was the class act on the pitch.

Dobbin and Garcia injected some spark into an otherwise vintage Everton Derby performance. Very few positives

Don't think this is the absolute disaster it could be made out to be but Southampton could well have the best wing back pair in the championship next season. Small and Livramento are both excellent going forwards and Small doesn't have much competition in front of him. Unfortunately the club didn't heed Smalls warning when he leaked out in Feb he was off if we didn't accommodate his demands but he still has a lot of work to do to be a premier league full back

Saints just signed a new LB this Summer. Small won’t overtake him yet.

He won't overtake him yet but I do think he's their second choice. He's one injury or suspension away from game time really. He's put his money where his mouth is and gone with realistically his best chance of game time. Obviously we don't get the full story on who was truly in for him, I very much doubt the big hitters showed genuine interest but Saints really don't have much depth and have a manger that will give him a chance

I mean personally I don’t think we’ll rue him leaving anyway. Whilst he looked a talent I’ve seen plenty of talented youth full-backs do nothing in pro football.

Far too early to say. some turn into Jake Bidwell. Others are Bukayo Saka and TAA. He looked very raw defensively for me and I even said he's more a winger than full back but let's not pretend he fluked into being our youngest ever player. The club were obviously high on him and didn't want to lose him.

For a bit of perspective though he'll probably generate our biggest academy fee since Barkley as a 17 year old with 2mins of game time.

I feel like if he was gonna be a Saka/TAA we would definitely know by now. He didn’t really even light up the U23’s when he played for me.

Tbf he was a 16 year old not lighting up the 23s. I do agree he wasn't and isn't some other worldly talent but TAA didn't make his first team debut until 18 and didnt become established until 19. And Small looked a million times better as a 16 year old than Anderson does as a 20 year old.

If we signed a player with Smalls resume tomorrow we would all be waxing lyrical.
