Everton Youth Teams Thread

Crusaders starlet Jack Patterson’s dreams of making it big in the English Premier League have moved a step closer.
Several clubs have been tracking the youngster, who has been earmarked as a future talent since his early teens.

Interest increased after Patterson became Crusaders’ youngest ever debutant last January, aged just 15 years and 78 days, and he has had a number of trials in both England and Scotland.

Now a deal has been done that will see him move later this year.

It is Merseyside giants Everton who have beaten West Ham United in the race for his signature with Sunday Life Sport understanding that agreement has been reached for the Ballyclare High pupil to join the Goodison Park club after he finishes school in the summer.

Leeds United had also been on the trail of Patterson, who was given a taste of first-team action at Seaview as a substitute against Warrenpoint Town having previously featured in friendly fixtures.

Rangers had also shown an interest in Patterson, but it is the Toffees who have displayed the strongest desire to capture his talent.

Patterson, who recently turned 16, hasn’t added to his League appearances for the Crues this season, but has been an unused substitute in the Danske Bank Premiership.

How old is Kristensen who came on late in the game at centre back? He looked like a good prospect to me with his awareness and anticipation and a some aggression maybe Michael Keane should have a look at his game he might learn something.

Just turned 18 this week, contract is up in June, I expect they will extend it.

Cho would be nowhere near our first team the same way he probably won't get near Dortmunds for couple few years. He's nowhere near the finished article despite the large fee. Potential to be great but there's really not a lot we could've done

Seb Kristensen is 19 next month, too old for u18 and not selected regularly for U23s so it’ll be a tough decision to give him another pro contract unless they see him as a good squad player to have around as he’s unlikely to displace Welch/ Campbell and Astley will be around too. It may depend on how highly they rate Jack Tierney who‘s coming through and seems to be the best centre back in the first year scholars .It’ll be Hard decisions time for somebody .

Scouting network is now just looking for people with the surname 'Patterson'

Aah misread his date of birth, thought 18 sounded younger than I thought he was

Campbell coming along nicely, you can tell there is a decent player in there, good hight and fast .

I may be wrong , but my impression is that’s the first time Welch/ Campbell have played together at U23s , as opposed to u18. Campbell has usually been played at left back when he’s appeared , with Welch/ Astley the CBs, or at least once as the left wing back in a back 5. Still young at 17, selected for England u18 , starting to tick the right boxes and time to develop further. It’s hard to compare him with others - better than Morgan Feeney at the same age , not as imposing as Branthwaite was would be my take.

Disagree on the bold part. BVB have plenty of form for playing 17/18 year olds in their first team.

One match at a time I guess, but we beat Sheff Utd U23s last night away with 5 of our u18s playing, Mills the best player on the pitch, and we beat Man Utd 3-0 at home recently at u18s. We’ve got a decent defence and options in midfield , I’d be happier if Okoronkwo gets fully fit and proves good enough to start and beef up our attack though.
