Some of these pro deals being announced won't be because we want to give them a pro now, it may be because some of these scholars will already have pro deals tied in to their scholarships.

For example, a 2 year scholar followed by a guaranteed 2 year pro.

I know some of our scholars this year have demanded these and it's becoming more and more common at lots of clubs.

I'd have thought this was/should be common practice at the club no? Maybe not for all players but definitely the higher rated ones. This has been the done thing for years at other clubs. Liverpool, United,City and us offered Adam Pepper 3 year youth and a guaranteed 3 year pro for example. Granted he was very highly rated and didn't pan out but its just 1 example from years ago.

Not sure who exactly you're referring to but surely we should be trying to lock down the likes of our highest rated prospects from 16 till 19/20 E.G: Lawrence, Sherif, ISS from the upcoming year rather than the yearly drama like weve had with Gordon and Dobbin. Better to be stuck with the odd bad player on a pro than miss out on Small, MAC, Rose that have walked out - Eli campbell also interestingly lacking a pro. Plus its an above board way of offering financial benfits that we were banned for. Maybe the club finally got a wake up call to change policy and start handing them out.

I assume though you're probably talking about some lesser ability players getting one than say Metcalfe.
