I always think these highlights favour the goalscorers and their goals over the defenders and their mistakes. Nash does look quite small for a goalkeeper even at his young age. From the bits I’ve seen of him his strengths are his ability to pass the ball out and his distribution, but he’ll need more than that to get to a higher level.

On a very rough count , I have Graham as 10th out of the ten goalkeepers we have, including Virginia, and I may have missed some. It seems a waste of money having that many and yet we seem to keep bringing them in. The model favoured by most PL teams seems to be don’t bother trying to develop your own young goalkeepers, just spend the money buying in a decent one, and have an experienced one as back up.

Dont forget as nearly always, The Everton u18s who are in 11th place are looking for there 1st league win in 5 since mid Feb and have lost 6 from last 9 league games are back in action today. This time away to bottom placed Newcastle (14th) who have not won a league game since early September- Kick off is 12.30

A first start for Shae Cahill at u18 , and a couple of fresh names on the bench in Callum Bates and Maher, though I think Bates may have been on the bench before? Okoronkwo seems to have missed a few games, hopefully not a significant injury.
