Everton Youth Teams Thread

we dont seem to like this comp
I took my granddaughter, as im based in suffolk. Colchester defended well and we hardly got in their half after the break, missed our goal due to traffic, first time I've seen these lads, there is some pace but like the first team that final ball is missing, I assume the missing lads are with the first team, I will go again if they are in the area

They change the teams quite a bit in the various competitions, the more games the better

I‘d say he’s made a step recently . He was a contender for MOTM in the recent Youth Cup win , playing midfield wide right , and started last nights u21 game in the middle of the the three . Not quite as good as his Youth Cup performance , but that may well have been his first u21 start.

Metcalfe has been out injured for a while, ACL injury , but is back training again and it’s been reported he’s not far off making a comeback.

On the back of this Barker conversation, and lads in his grass roots team doing well, 2 others he played against in the Bolton area that we all just knew would be pro players....even at 8/9 everyone was watching with mouths open. 1 was Rico Lewis now starting for Man City and the other Luca Ty Thomas at Leeds, was at City with Rico.

Look on my lads face watching Lewis on TV while he is knocking about hung over in a semi-pro reserves team ?

?

Very good coach done an amazing job with u21s in terms of style of play.
Every player improved under him in 6 months.
That is fundamentally the job of a coach improve the players you work with!!
Food for thought
Without starting an “ anti-Unsy” theme, the change has indeed been significant under Paul Tait. In some ways his experience as an u18 coach was more demanding, you lose half your players every 12 months and have to integrate a bunch of 16 year olds. So i think he’ll stand up well in the next 5 months , possibly losing 5 or 6 experienced heads while establish the best u18s at u21 level.

There was a great video of him a couple of years ago doing some defensive drills on the website.
