Everton Youth Teams Thread

….just mentioned on the match thread you gave him a positive mention a few days ago, seems to have been out of action for a while.
Really highly rated a couple of years back but he’s well thought of by the coaches at FF. Hell of a finisher and he’s a big lad too. Think other than Armstrong he’s got the best chance of our youth. Clarke looks lively as well.

I assume he's been in the Everton injury information blackhole for the last 3 months?

Think it’s been a knee issue but don’t quote me.

Always been very highly rated. Watch him at his level he looks like Rom. Very interesting if he can make the step up, great left foot.

He’s a unit so that automatically gives him a chance.

Yeh seen him play good few times, finishing is a bit suspect but that never stopped Calvert-Lewin having a career!

….another ex-Academy player, I think he might already be at the club at some level.

If I remember rightly, he’s a Newcastle lad (like Ian Tait), I watched him plenty before he moved to Blackpool and had a decent career in the game. I’m pretty sure his brother was also with us, a big CB.

He's been with us since 2017.

Yeah Southern was alongside Tait as u18 s manager , I believe they moved up together when Tait was promoted to u21manager.

I don’t know enough about the difference in coaches but I do feel that the Bains/ Scot Phelan combination has worked well at u18 , enough for Phelan to be promoted . Again just instinct on what I see , the u21s to me have been less effective under Tait/ Southern

He’s quick and strong for the level he’s at now, I wouldn’t say rapid but he can shift.

He’s one who’s got a chance, we haven’t got that many yet. U18s looking more promising though.
I didn’t read too much into Sherif being on the bench , apart from Armstrong and Dixon we seem to have been a bit random in the bench selection lately eg Callum Bates and Luke Butterfield for one match only I think, and both are likely to leave in June. There’s certainly some promise with Sherif, I don’t see a natural goalscorer yet , but it’s early days. So far I have him alongside Okoronkwo , Ebre and the now departed Katia Kouyate as being big , strong , nice touches at times but never consistent enough to show they’ll score goals at a higher level. But the rapid late development of Tom Cannon gives hope to all our young forwards.

A man of many talents

He’s got a lot more about him than the three mentioned.

There were some big clubs sniffing around a year or so ago. Not sure whether the issues were growth related but he was always a big lad (6’3/4).
