I think strikers have a better chance to shine now under Tait rather than Unsworth. That's something at least.

At least there's one thing to be cheerful about in Everton world.

One of the best things about keeping an eye on the youth football is watching the skills and experience of different players developing over the seasons.

For example, with Price, at the moment he isn't good (or robust) enough to challenge our current midfield (or most PL midfields). But, as others have said, he looks head and shoulders above this level. So in an ideal world he would sign a contract and go on an agreed loan to a Championship or League One club. Whether that's with us or someone else is the question (or even with the first team if we go down and release players).

Plenty of other questions with youth players like Mills and those out on loan like Cannon, Warrington and Dobbin.

But also from the Academy pov they bring in the most money if they don't quite make it. How much would Championship teams pay for Simms now, as an example? How much have people paid for RS dross?

I agree. Ebere and Samuel's in the 18s look good.

Early days but Sherif seems to be developing well. Watched one of the youth cup games last season and couldn't believe he was only 15 at the time, looked like a proper unit. And certainly seems to have an eye for goal in the 18s.

Sherif probably the stand out of our young strikers and as you say still quite young , not 17 until June.

Hasn't had that much to do so far, but I'm usually impressed with Leban in goal. He seems to have good distribution and is vocal with his defenders. Looks as if he could be better than Virginia.

Tempo dropped second half particularly without Price then Mills . I thought Campbell played well at the back , a good 30 mins from Metcalfe , tackles , crisp passes , driving runs into the box, shots on goal , it would be good to see him alongside Price at this level.

I'd love to know where metcalfe would be in his development without all the injuries, always impresses. Just a couple of sloppy passes which is understandable missing so much football
