No idea about Southamptons youth business.

However, they did sign 4 players from City last summer: Bazunu, Lavia, Edozie and Larios. Of course previously the likes of Livramento and recently Alcaraz and Sulemana.

Would that be the first team head of recruitment with a mandate to sign u21s?

Then the Head of youth recruitment is looking at all levels below the first team?

If correct, what would the head of emerging talent do? For all I know it could mean simply planning a pathway for certain players and discussing with the relevant coaches and DOF.

I think Dyche has two options re Mills :
” Sorry son, you’ve got talent and potential but at 19 and no real first team experience I’m not prepared to pitch you into a relegation battle “
or
“ There you go son, we need a goal , you’ve got something different and they won’t be expecting you , go out and run at them for the last 15 minutes”
Mind you the last one might be being used up for Simms.

Just a really messy situation in that the player really needs a loan but the club cant loan a player with no time left on his deal. The two most rumoured sides after him are Burnley and Liege. I can't see how either of those teams are in a better situation than us for his long term development.
