It’s hard to pick anybody out that we don’t know about already eg Sherif, Armstrong and Morgan look to have build and ability, I was going to add Thomas until he got easily bettered for their goal. But as you say ,still kids.

First half was a touch watch but we started to play a little more in the second. No surprise that Apter, Ebere and Sherif all looked good.

From the first years I saw something in Armstrong, Van Schoor and the unfortunate Catesby.

OSS the standout stinker, bless.

….quite a few very good footballers come from Stockport, it’s a decent source even back when I was playing, @Mikey_Fitzgerald can confirm.

I saw Stockport in the 1948 English schools final at Anfield, a 3-3 draw, only one game was played and they shared the trophy. They had a very good player Boy Brennan, a well known schoolboy player but he never made the grade., over 40,000 watched this game on a Bank Holiday Monday, I think it was a tanner ( two and a half pence ) to get in.

I was only seven at the time so wasn’t streetwise enough to bunk in!
