I'd like to know the official answer to this one too. I assume it's just a holiday though, a winter break aimed at avoiding overworking young players, avoiding injuries, avoiding burn-out, etc.

i was thinking something similar but they're likely still training most days and playing friendlies (especially the u21s).
Pitches as well.
Different level, but I recall when the boy was young Dec/Jan was terrible on the pitches and most games were cancelled.
I know a few clubs have good grounds, but not all.

Was really impressed with him in the U20(?) WC last year. Played as a sort of quarterback in a back 3. Think he might be a midfielder normally?

The FAYouth Cup tie on Thursday is on You Tube. Mind you our OS seem to think we‘re playing Chelsea u21s , so who knows.

When he appeared for the u21s as a 16 year old I had high hopes for Astley , but physically not big enough for the PL. Good luck to him though.
Shame they didn’t switch it to Goodison, no home game until the Luton cup tie so not going to harm the pitch .
