He was appointed as a coach without any previous experience but thats normal and obviously everybody has to get a first job. He had been coaching in the academy for 2 years when he got the head coach job which is probably quite normal aswell at that level I'm not saying he's a good coach I don't know but on paper giving him the job is not that strange.Maybe but Paul Tait has been there a good few years now and his teams have always played the same way. Leighton Baines was appointed without any previous experience has a coach.
I seem to remember us losing to Marine in this competition last year. Its usually an u18 side with a few schoolboys thrown in too , so it’ll be interesting to see who makes our team sheet.Believe an Everton XI will face Marine away tonight, £6 with 1930 start time.
If you are talking about Paul Tait what was he doing before he was appointed as a coach, was he a player? After his spell as coach of the U18’s he was appointed the head of the Academy after an interview when it was stated by the club he was the best of the people interviewed, it wasn’t stated who interviewed him or who if any the other people where who went after the job. Being a sceptic I think it a case of a job for the boys same as Leighton’s was and they were given the job by our late Chairman. He was appointed as a coach without any previous experience but thats normal and obviously everybody has to get a first job. Yes, I just checked his career he had a decent career scoring quite a few goals mostly in the lower leagues and non league nevertheless he did quite well. He has Eufa coaching badges and has been a coach at Everton since 2008, fifteen years, he is forty nine so he has done well financially out of being an Everton coach, despite that I have never been impressed by the style his team plays and it is mostly the same style. I still think the whole Academy could do with an overall change but that will have to wait while the top part of the club awaits it’s fate for the future.….i remember watching Tait playing for our Academy. He’s a Newcastle lad, I think he was with the likes of Keith Southern and was living in Croxteth Park in digs. Traditional no9, he made a decent living out of the game playing for the likes of Bristol (I think).
And rightly so, he probably had one of the best groups youngsters we’ve ever had. As an acedemy you can only work with what you’ve gotOur youth policy has gone to pot - & fans slated Unsy .....

Any booing?Match report from last night: https://www.evertonfc.com/news/3895205/under-18s-bow-out-of-cup-to-marine
Team was:
Pickford, Samuels-Smith, van Schoor (Thomas), Moonan (Davis), Welch, Jones, Heath, Bates, Ebere, Armstrong (Foster), Boakye (Beaumont-Clark).
I would question our scouting system for the rest of the UK tbh. It's the recruitment that has killed us of the pitch , the ban didn't help and City hoovering up everything in the NW hasn't helped either.
