It is fair to say Benjamin knows how to make a good first impression. Three games into this season he scored a stunning first-half hat-trick for Arsenal’s Under-18s against Tottenham and it was little surprise to anyone who has charted his early career. Benjamin, who is at his most dangerous surging infield from the left, has exceptional speed and close control along with explosive finishing ability; prior to 2022-23 he had already demonstrated those qualities for Wales Under-17s and as a prolific scorer for Arsenal Under-16s. It helps, too, that he is blessed with the strength to hold off opponents. He has shown a highly encouraging understanding with Ethan Nwaneri, the schemer who became the Premier League’s youngest-ever player in September.
