Everton Youth Teams Thread

Well he did leave home at 16 to go to another country so I would guess we’ve given him a setting in period, he’ll be a regular in the u21s soon and for me he’s still on to make our bench before the end of the season. Like Armstrong he needs a “ Handle me with care” label on him and he’s still ahead of where Gordon was as a first year scholar and improving all the time.
I think we sometimes forget how good Gordon's first year scholar season was. He had already made his first team debut at this point and was on 12 goals in 10 games.

Graham for me is a better prospect than Armstrong, probably the biggest prospect at the club along with Clarke from what I've seen. Only thing working against him is there's a massive bloat in the club at centre forward and also the manager probably will never have heard of him.

….the manager will be fully aware of those two, have no doubt about that. Weird how posters don’t think Dyche takes an interest, he’s handed out debut’s, watches junior games in person and promotes youngsters to training with the first team.

Thing is with Graham, given his size he’s unlikely to be a CF. I imagine he’ll be seen in support or as a no10, he comes deep and is quite direct in his running. Not sure about Clarke’s best position, decent left foot he seems to score goals coming in from wide.

Oh I’m not dissing Gordon , I sponsored his thread for 4 seasons until he left, the rat, and his big strength was that he later showed application and a desire to improve far in advance of similarly talented players. I watched streams off Gordon at 16 in that pre season CEE cup thingy where he won player of the tournament, I just think what I’ve seen of Graham , particularly in similar tournaments , that he shows more maturity in his play at a similar age. I think he actually fits Dyche’s criteria for a 10 very well , particularly his work rate and the way he’s the one who drops back and covers when he’s playing with a bigger no9. I’m hoping it makes him a low level risk for a bench spot later on if we’re in mid table safety.

Oh i thought you watched them and had a view. Nevermind then ;)
Well if you were that interested you’d have read enough of this thread to know my views and been able to balance those views off against other people’s views. On the other hand you could just try watching these kids yourself and making up your own mind , the vast majority of us don’t get to see them playing live we rely on streams of matches, highlights etc . If you watch a lot of football you should set some of that time aside to watch your own club’s future prospects 👍
And to help you, like everyone else on here I’m happy to share my views and any information I have.
PS . Omari Benjamin is a very promising u21 player, look him up.

Not particularly watching much at all this season.

Heard of Benjamin when he was at Arsenal and highly rated and surprised we got him.

But my question to you was about the other four and which you think could make the first 11 in time...just on the reports here I'd say all but a maybe under Dixon?

Apologies if it's been posted already but there was a short article in the Brentford programme that states that Charlie Whitaker and Luke Butterfield "have recently benefitted from a training opportunity at Stockport County". Sounds like it was just a couple of days but thought it was an interesting way to get them a bit more experience and also strengthen the ties between us and Stockport (they already have Onyango on loan from us).

Sounds like they've been on trial there maybe? Both are out of contract at the end of the season.
