Everton Youth Teams Thread

Two assists tonight for Armstrong , both simple ,through passes just the right weight , something he does well
Yes, as he should do, looked levels above U18 while mostly playing within himself. Thought the back four were pretty good for this level and Foster and Clarke both had some good moments. Would be interesting to see the reaction from the U18s if they go behind - they rode their luck a little bit at times tonight.

3-1 final score . A very competent, composed performance from the team , an all round good performance . The two centre backs Thomas/ Davis got just about everything put into them , that’s the best I’ve seen Luca Davis play . Clarke is going to be some player if he can get that final bit of composure to add to his speed and strength. Doug had three blips where he flapped at the ball , really Pickford is way ahead of him at this stage, someone better break it gently to Zat who has him pencilled in for the first team bench next season.

…..sounds like Graham had a quiet game, I’m sure he’s saving it for the latter rounds. Looks a terrific draw, not sure if we’re in the quarter finals already.

Clarke and Armstrong both living around the corner from me, I’ll certainly say ‘well done’ when I next see them.

Graham took a wee while to get into the game , maybe getting back after injury. But he still had some good touches , including a 50 yard run with the ball driving at defenders and getting into position for a decent shot on goal . Should have passed really but heh that’s what makes a goalscorer. No other significant threat though .

It certainly wasn’t the perfect performance last night , there’s a long way to go for these kids , but it was heartening to see their style of play, including the way Graham, Clarke, Armstrong carried the ball forward whenever space appeared and Foster too was looking to play the forward ball to release the attackers. “ Snods” was having kittens in the commentary the way the back 5 played the ball around in our area - “ Hoof it up the pitch ! In my day …..”

Armstrong should be in the first team squad for the rest of the season.
His progression should hopefully save us a few quid next season.
