Everton Youth Teams Thread

......let's not forget that at that age Ownen wasn't far off playing in a World Cup for England and scoring a wonder goal against Argentina. I like Brewster but he's been on loan at Stockport playing alongside lads I saw not long ago in the Liverpool Sunday Premier League.

Just managing expectation, Maccavennie.

Of course mate, don't want to be jumping the gun as there's 1000 Cadamateris for every Rooney. Just like the look of him, his movement off the ball etc.

They brought him on as a sub in midfield in the last game, so they must have confidence in his ability to play there.
Brendan Galloway didn't make the England u21 match day squad against Switzerland , which must be a disappointment for him, though resumably they've got another game soon. 0-0 at half time , on BT Sport but I've no interest in it.
Apparently another niggling injury - didn't he miss the last internationals with a dodgy hamstring as well poor lad?

Currently 1-1 amd we're down to 10 men

Everton Under-18s staff and players have thankeD Texas-based fans for the backing shown during the team’s Dallas Cup campaign. There have been Evertonians at each of the Young Blues’ four fixtures so far in the tournament - and more are expected to attend Sunday’s final against Fulham at Toyota Stadium. Earlier in the week, coaches Kevin Sheedy, Phil Jevons and Kevin O’Brien met up with members of the North Texas Toffees supporters’ club, based in the Addison district of the city.

The support that Everton has is worldwide and there is a loyal set of fans here in Dallas,” said assistant coach Jevons. It’s been great to have that following at the games here and the boys really appreciated that at the semi-final on Friday - they went over and celebrated the win with them after the FC Dallas game. “The evening we had with the North Texas Toffees a couple of days earlier was another great event. We thought it would be a question and answer session but when we got there it was more like being sat down with your mates, talking about Everton and football.

“The final is going to be a great occasion. The stadium will hopefully be pretty full and we are looking forward to seeing the Everton supporters once again.”

Really takes something to support a club thousands of miles away from Texas. Long may it flourish.

And indeed it would have been freezing - deliberately. 30 years ago I was immersing my legs / lower body in cold baths after long runs to aid recovery as part of my marathon preparation. Nowadays professional team like Wales rugby team use cryogenic chambers for say 10 min spells for their players after a hard game. ( Scotland rugby are catching up slowly they put their players in wheelie bins full of ice /water. !) It helps reduce fatigue in the muscles and aids recovery.

Most of these youngsters have played 4 games in the last week, sticking them in a freezing cold swimming pool for ten minutes and letting them have a bit of fun while they are at it makes perfect sense, and will have aided their muscle recovery for tonight's final...... and they probably didn't even know it :-)
