Everton Youth Teams Thread

Look at Naismith in this one

He pisses when he wants.

Interesting that Hallam Hope is the same year group as Barkley, Browning and Lundstram but seems so far off the first team that he's training with 15 and 16 year olds in Austria. Really needs to show Bobby something, he's already given chances when he see's a players potential.

Bobby did say that everyone was starting the pre-season according to their own schedule - may just be that he needed to be back that week earlier and he could do more with the U21s out there than on his own at FF. Still interesting like.

@swisso whats your take on,

Browning
Lundstram
Long
Kennedy
Garbutt

EDIT -McAleny and Grant also mate + have you ever seen or heard anything on Byrne?

Also noticed he didnt mention Ledson, seems odd not to mention him as he was in the same position as browning at the end of last season and about to get a game.

Sounds like duffy is off to me.

Ps-thanks @bluebud

Duffy will stay, we need a extra defender this year with the Europa League and that will be Duffy, we won't sell him then go and sign someone else. The only defender I can see us signing is Galloway and thats a long term thinking signing.

Duffy made his first team debut back in 2009, he's mainly trained with the first team and has sat on the bench many times times over the years since making his debut. He is 22, has a full season of Championship football under his belt and has made his international debut. He's no longer in that development stage, he's ready to go and show whether he's up to and that's why Martinez said he's in a different situation that the rest of the players.

....he's sill here, though, which indicates they feel he has something. Remember that Osman came through really late (although his progress was blighted by injury).

Seven members of Everton's 2013/14 Academy League winning side have signed their first professional contracts with the Club.

The seven players to commit from Kevin Sheedy's side - victors over Manchester City in May's Under-18 championship final - are goalkeeper Russell Griffiths (aged 18), defenders Jonjoe Kenny (17), Curtis Langton and Gethin Jones (both 18), midfielders Joe Williams and Harry Charsley and forward Calum Dyson (all 17).

Kenny, a European Championship winner with England Under-17s earlier this summer, and fellow Liverpudlian Williams have both signed three-year deals, keeping them at Goodison Park until at least the end of the 2016/17 campaign.

Griffiths, Charsley and Dyson have agreed terms for two years, while Jones and Langton have penned one-year deals.

Meanwhile, 18-year-old striker Sam Byrne has arrived at Finch Farm on a free transfer having left Manchester United's academy in May after three years.

A Republic of Ireland Under-19 international with seven goals in 10 outings, the Dublin-born striker also spent 13 games on loan at League One Carlisle United last season, scoring once.

What about Ryan Ledson? Has he signed one already. Seems strange that Roberto did not mention him making a push for the first team when asked about the youngsters too.

Think they can only sign first professional contact at 17, max 3 years.

At 18 they can sign a new contract for longer.

Ledson 17 next month like the other posters mentioned.

I went to watch the U21s a few times last season at Southport. I seem to recall it was free for STHs and OAPs and £5 for the rest. Looks like from the OP that it will now be £5 for STHs and other concessions and £8 for everyone else -- that's crazy! The team was attracting crowds approaching 1,000 whenever I went. Wouldn't expect more a few hundred (if that) from now on.
