Everton Youth Teams Thread

Only a few mins of highlights from the England U17 vs Portugal game

Bits of Ryan Ledson (no 14) and Kieran Dowell.

Keep an eye on Number 7 Patrick Roberts, the one running the show with the dribbling, remember his name.

Swisso you should recognize Ledson. He is number 4.

I noticed Ledson is captain, great to see.

Damn Swisso, you had my hopes up when you said keep an eye on Patrick Roberts, the kid looks crazy good. I thought you were referring to him being an Everton player but unfortunately when I Googled him I realized he's not. :(

Would you also mind telling me a little bit about Kieran Dowell?

Roberts does look amazing BUT the transition to senior football is huge and sometimes those who look amazing in junior football simply can't adapt their game.

I still remember seeing Jamie Milligan absolutely boss an England U18 game against Italy

He looked head and shoulders above the likes of Gerrard and Barry. Then ended up falling down through the leagues.

Plus losing Sean Doherty to Fulham after he looked like the new Giggs in youth football.

Dowell looks a tidy player, good left foot, and can put a tackle in. Did ok playing two years up in the derby. Seemed much more comfortable in the centre, than on the left. We do appear to have some promising CM's coming through.

U16s are at a mini tournament today at Blackburn with us, City and United.

U18s are at home facing Leeds in a friendly (2 week league break)

Everton drew with Leeds 1-1, George Green with the goal.

U16s are through to the National finals (must have finished 2nd or 3rd in the tournament)

Premier League U21 Cup drawn tomorrow, Everton enter in the 3rd round once the Category 2 and 3 clubs have played. They'll play a northern team in the 3rd round before they mix with the southern teams in the 4th round and beyond.

Was just looking for this thread actually.

I'm sure if I tried harder I could find the info I need, but does anyone know where the U21s play at home, how much entry is etc? I'm living in Liverpool as of this week and wouldn't mind getting to a few of these games.

They play at Southports Haig Avenue, generally on Mondays at 7pm. It's about a mile and a half from Southport centre.

It's a fiver to get in, there's plenty of street parking nearby, and trains from Southport back to Liverpool centre are every 15-20mins from 9pm till late.

Not the greatest place to have it being 20miles away from Liverpool! St Helens would have been ideal, new stadium, tons of parking etc.

Thanks mate.

That is quite far, a 45 minute drive from where I'll be! I'll still try and get to a few though as I really can't afford going to Goodison and seeing the big boys play!

There's some good football so it's not too bad, but it's quite dead really. The U21 cup is coming around November so could be a few more games at Southport unless we have them behind closed doors at Finch Farm!
