Tbf cutting down on the in ground support for the team might also have something to do with it - almost as important as learning how to play the game is learning how to play in front of a tense/angry crowd. Unfortunately Ross is finding that out the hard way.

True! At these type of games the crowd are always appreciative and support the kids well. Normally only a few hundred in the upper bullens where it's usually freezing. I've took my son to a few of these type of games, help acclimatise and prepare for the bigger matches he goes to.

Glad to hear that the crowd, although sparse, get behind the team. Over here some parents with kids describe some awful abuse at even under 10 matches, crazy.

Yep, very rarely hear anything negative and just a lot of positivity. There's a lot of the players family and friends who sit in the stand as well so they are well supported in that sense as well. It's still a good environment and pressure for them though, just to play at Goodison and the size of it is enough to unnerve the most seasoned of pro's so it must be a big deal for them.
