Evertonians for change.

Status
Not open for further replies.
Following dreadful recent results, performances and general mismanagement of the club from top to bottom and some discussion with "MINT" this morning.
We wanted to find ways of brainstorming ways on which we as fans can drive Everton in a more positive direction.
We wanted to create it as an open forum as possible, where we all get a say and polls etc to decide on what action should be taken.
We're sure we can all agree that we as Evertonians deserve better.
We don't care where you come from, how often you attend games or if you travel away. We only care about if you're a blue and love the club.
We want to state that although we started this thread, we're in no way setting ourselves up as a leader, this is designed as a collective to drive Everton to better and a way of giving as many of you a voice as possible.
We feel that we as a group of fans need to act now while the media spotlight is on us as a club and drive that negativity into a positive.

Thank you.

Impressive

The club does seem to me to be on a downward trajectory and so key interventions are required I think. One I believe is changing the ownership for one with the firepower and value add to regain stability and take the club to the next level, the other is improving the fan mindset and contribution. Ideally, this should all be done as positively and constructively as possible

I think a key thing is in taking a step back and considering different ways in which to think about the club and how to engage with it

If more fans are able to take a big picture view, I think that will be helpful. I think somehow building understanding of the role of the players and the reality of the position they're in would also help. Maybe sessions can be set up to provide more in depth info and to increase actual interaction with players and staff, building knowledge / empathy for what's going on, rather than being remote critics

I think it is key that fans understand how they can best support the club through difficult times and make a constructive contribution in those circumstances

Are clearer fan leaders needed - maybe ex Everton players?

Hi Adam, and welcome. Did you see Toffee TV on Sky Sports? Do you think they did a good job of stating our case in the short time they had?
I've just caught up with it, not entirely sure I agree with all of it personally.
Frank Lampard has to go, that's now unavoidable.
I don't necessarily believe that Moshiri has to sell up, although would be preferable.
He does need to oust Kenwright, DBB, Sharp and install a proper business/football board.
Also, don't like what he was saying about Goodison personally but that's his opinion.
The squad thing I disagree with, look what Ancelotti achieved with them, a good manager could improve that team.
This is just a way of gauging general consensus and feeling.

The club will listen to the fans and think the solution is

I'm not sure how people don't think Moshiri is the problem

Moshiri is obviously a problem but with a proper board in place and as a hands off owner, his damage can be limited.
In an ideal world he sells up but that requires a buyer to buy at what he values his investment at.
Hence for me, need to concentrate on things that can be changed.

Hi mate and welcome to the board!!
Where in earth dod you get that username from????!!!!?????

Good idea. Everton need new ownership. The stadium could make us an attractive proposition, but Im not sure of the debt incurred by Kenwright/Moshiri to date. Key is to make things unbearable for Kenwright even if it borders on the ‘extra - judicial’..,,ie putting fart cushions, drawing pins under his seat, spiking his pastie with hallucenegenics, greasing the steps in front of barrett baxendale. We could kidnap the tannoy announcer and then read out our demands on the speaker system at half time?

True, but I kind of like that they didn’t name him - there’s no point in directing anger at any one person, as it only antagonises people. I think we can all agree that “the board” collectively are doing a terrible job, and that needs to be the message.
I agree that the focus has to be on the Board as all of the Directors are culpable in the mess that’s been created over many years not just the Moshiri era. We have many examples of the Board’s incompetence over the decades and these should be hammered home rather than focus on individual personalities. The constant referencing by Evertonians to “The Board” being a major issue will have the individual directors fighting like rats in a sack to protect their image/position and not wanting to be seen as the villain
Kenwright is now our version of Peter Swales and the treatment meted out to him in his final throes at Man City is what we need to avoid if we want to keep the media onside and maintain the pressure on “the Board”.

We need a transparent fan group.

A fan group with a visible, articulate spokesperson.

A fan group who have well thought out, long term objectives - with all activity towards those objectives.

Our neighbours provided the blue print. Jay McKenna/Spirit Of Shankley were very effective at what they did.
I agree, but it’s so hard for anyone to step forward as a spokesperson, especially in the current climate. Evertonians are legendary for their scathing critique, not just of football, but of anyone, even one of their own, having an opinion. I admire anyone who puts themselves in the limelight to take this on.
