He's just been interviewed on Sky F1 and was asked why he didn't give the position back, and his reply was, 'I've told the team my reasons. They've understood.'

He kept saying, 'I've given my reasons... and I think they've understood it'. The commentator seemed quite annoyed by his arrogance and petulance.

He's even blamed Lewis for the crash. I'm usually quite a forgiving and accepting person, but he is someone who comes across as a horrible, horrible person.

Why would he do the above? He wasn't first, so it wasn't like he was protecting his chance to lead the race. A baseless conspiracy theory, in my eyes.

If he's intentionally stopped him from passing because of a grudge, we know exactly what he's like as a person. Why would Checo admit it too?

Dutch journalist mate.

In other words it's bulls**t.

Max believes it though - clearly- if that's his excuse, although he wouldn't confirm it. Right now, you wouldn't be surprised if relations sour even further.

The drivers' poor relationships, the 10% spending limit and reduced development time in the wind tunnels could easily impact going in to next season.

The journalist has doubled down and said its not speculation, its fact.
This may require Horner to come out and state it's truthful, or it's incorrect. If Max believes it to be true, the latter may agitate the relationship with the team.

If Horner does admit it, it throws Checo under the bus and will bring about an almighty storm. For Horner to do nothing, it will upset both drivers.

Red Bull falling on their own arsery sword.

It's not a gross exaggeration to say that Verstappen basically owes the way things played out in AD last year to Checo. The way he blocked Hamilton and cost him 10 seconds put Verstappen firmly in his pit window, meaning that Hamilton could never just mirror Max's strategy and cover him off, and that was decisive in the end.
