Awkward times for Haas. An American team financed by Russians with a Russian driver and Russian flag on their car. No wonder they have pulled Guenther Steiner from todays press conference.

Can't read too much in testing times, never mind "shakedown" times, but no reason the silver Arrows not giving us any reasons to suspect they won't be right at the front of the pack when the lights drop in Bahrain

Russian driver Nikita Mazepin has been sacked by the Haas team as a result of his country's invasion of Ukraine.

The US-based outfit have also terminated the contract of their title sponsor, the Russian chemicals company Uralkali.
Uralkali is part-owned by Mazepin's billionaire father Dmitry, a close associate of Russian President Vladimir Putin, through his company Uralchem.

Haas said news on Mazepin's replacement was expected early next week.

Read that a few times, and I still can't figure out if the Mercedes is fast or not.
Glad I'm not the only one - it's a definite double negative.

It's unsurprising really when so many companies are moving away from Russian deals and the Russian Grand Prix being cancelled.

Big rumour doing the rounds that Merc are going to run a car with no sidepods at tomorrows test, quite a few F1 journalists discussing whether it’s possible from technical perspective. Mark Hughes seems to think that Merc have built an “epic” car, also as an Italian outlet claiming Merc have done something revolutionary. All rumours, we find out tomorrow.

Yeah, wasn't the best really was he?

HAAS must be really tight for cash this season. Can't see them doing much more than turn up.

Be interesting, you'd think there would be enough big American sponsors they could find.

Else they could just vanish mid-season.

Much like Mazepin himself I reckon his replacement will be considered strongly on the basis of what financial backing or market opportunities they bring with them rather than actually having the ability to be worth the seat over others.
