F1 2024 (and other motorsport) thread

It was a wee bit monotonous and predictable at the start, although the last few months have seen a great change.
Wonder if it's just coincidence but this closing up between Verstappen and the rest seems to have come about since Neweys' announcement and him being frozen out of some aspects of RB strategy and development.

If it carries on, maybe they go back to him with a blank cheque and a begging bowl.

Perez is actually the worst driver in the modern(ish) history of the sport to drive for a top team. Like I legit can’t think of anyone else who has been this bad for this long. When he’s not crashing out in Q1 he’s slow as hell. Just a perfect example of how bang average some of the talent in F1 is, in fact bang average is being too kind to him.

In a just world he’d be out the sport for good but with his Carlos slim money he’ll probably still somehow manage to land another seat somewhere.

Russell and Perez out in Q1. Red Bull must surely be thinking of moving him on even though they just gave him a new contract
I still think they'll end up bringing Ricciardo back. Has good synergy with Max and is a proven second driver for them. Or it might be whichever of the RB drivers impresses most over the rest of the season.

Throttle issues for Lando before the race has even started. In other news Kimi Antonelli had a very good performance in F2 today.

Fingers crossed everything goes well for him in the race - he deserved a victory after his improvement in the past few months.

Ha, I do like to see Verstappen given some of his own medicine there being forced wide, and he should definitely be told to give a place or two back.
