You'd expect it will have done his confidence the world of good. Even if doesn't qualify on pole, his ability to manage the tyres sets him in good stead for the race.

Felt like Oscar was most likely to get pole going into that and he did a great job. Impressive from Russell too.

The oil down the left-hand side of the grid may cause a bit of a mix-up at the start, because the teams appear genuinely concerned it'll limit their starts.
If that is the case, Oscar may get even more of an advantage from the right-hand side of the track.
