Carlisle away April 1975 0-3.....shudders!!!! Blew league more or less.
(And for good measure we had lost 3-2 at home in December having been 2 up at half time)
That said away to lower league is always tricky but I believe in this team!!!

....before this season they are the only team we have played in top flight football and never defeated. I clearly remember those games, they played really well at Goodison. They had a lad who I think was called Chris Balderstone who stood out. He was also a cricketer and went on to be an umpire.

3 all PL ties in the 4th round (in all likelihood after replays are sorted), plus four where I'd place PL teams in real danger (replay between WBA and Bristol City) and 4th round ties (Bournemouth at Portsmouth/Ipswich; United at Derby; Watford at Forest).

Add that to Swansea, Norwich, Southampton and Newcastle already knocked out and by the 5th round there could just be 8 other PL teams left in the hat...a 1:2 chance of lower league opponents.

Like the LC this season, I think we'll face no more than one tough PL clash in order to get to Wembley.

All way down the line, of course. But it looks promising already...and teams going well in one cup competition usually get a taste for what's required and do well in the other.

Yep played for Leicestershire I think. Was he their goalie?
