FA Cup Replays

We should just let them have the super league at this point. Then they can have this. The football pyramid and FA cup can then be left alone for the rest of us. Football is still hugely popular down the leagues and we will still fill our ground. It'll take an initial financial hit but I think it'll recover.

The league standard would mean less big players, but overall the competitive would increase twenty fold.

Let them go

Agreed, it was argued that football would die in the country of the super league happened but I have the strong belief that there are still easily enough football fans in this country that enjoy watching football, it is not about status of the player but the competition between 2 teams.

There is the possibility it would get stronger as a lot of lower down clubs would start to get bigger crowds. That is the hope anyway. The rich clubs are a disease in this country and the only way to cure it is to get rid of them.

It would regenerate itself and become a sport again, not monopoly with a ball.
What made the game so attractive can still be there if driven by the supporters, clubs and appropriate vested interests, not wrought for every last penny until it's dry.
Really wouldn't be arsed about Spurs v Galatasaray. Utd v Red Star. Only the foam fingered would, and the r/s and their fake rivalry derbies. 'Kem.

Great statement this. Fair play to Morecambe 👍

Morecambe Football Club is outraged with the FA and Premier League's decision to make significant and impactful changes to the FA Cup, without any engagement with the vast majority of Clubs and Stakeholders that contribute to the best cup competition in world football.

It is a sad indictment of the game that however much this decision, and the way it was reached disappoints us, it no longer is any surprise.

The contempt that is shown by those making these decisions towards anyone, and anything, outside of their organisations is clear from recent developments such as this and the lack of any meaningful movement on a much-needed new deal for football.

The Club learned of the significant news via the public press release, with no prior knowledge of any discussions of this nature or plans to make changes that affect those at the bottom end of the pyramid far more than those at the top.

Football is broken, there will be no magical fix without meaningful change and those with vested interests are clearly unable to sort this. Yet again it is clear as day that an independent regulator is required and as soon as possible, before more football clubs reach their limit. Communities and supporters will be broken and devastated – all whilst we watch a handful of teams spend sums of money that is beyond comprehension.

We call on the FA to suspend the decision immediately and properly consult with the games Stakeholders.

No surprise at all the premier league have got their grubby little fingerprints all over this. Genuinely starting to despise them.
The greater issue is that the PL is pandering and bending over for the very small minority of teams who are regularly competing in the Champions League.

Don't be fooled in to thinking that this is about the wider PL, including those competing in the EL or the ECL. It is all about the money, these clubs thrive on.

City, Arsenal, the RS, United and Chelsea holds the cards, and this is why the wider football pyramid are now being shafted by the cronies at the top.

These clubs don't even really care about the FA Cup either.

Everton 4-4 Liverpool (20 February 1991)
In this classic Merseyside derby Liverpool went ahead four times with two goals from Peter Beardsley, and one each from Ian Rush and John Barnes at Goodison Park.
Graeme Sharp and Tony Cottee scored two goals each for the Toffees to send the fifth-round contest into a second replay.
The breathless game is famous for preceding the departure of Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish less than 48 hours later.
Dalglish said at a press conference he was stepping down because he had become tired from the pressure of the job.
Everton edged the second replay 1-0 at Goodison Park the following week.

The too many games and “think of the poor players” argument holds absolutely no water when there are ridiculous pre and post season friendly tournaments with all these greedy scab clubs making players fly to the ends of the earth.

How can that be ok, but a 3rd round fa cup replay against Blackpool is too much….not in any world I want to be a part of.

Just a disgrace, we need the non-scab clubs to join together and fight this disgusting decision, which is as much an attack on the very heart of our national game as the European Super league ever was or will be.

I really hope Everton had no say in the matter.

Do it the other way, get the 99% to vote out the 1%. See ya later, don't come back.
