I can see why he's fuming but not really the clubs fault.

The media and police already has his age out there so once the club confirmed it was our player it was a 50/50.

Been a trouble causer since the day he arrived and doesn't actually give a toss about the player who has been suspended, just the fact that people thought it might have been him when he never made the trip to Orlando. Service to self and needs getting rid of this window imo.

you say that but he could be making a serious point about the reasons for hiding the name of a player who has been suspended pending a police investigation.

Everton have no responsibility towards people mouthing off on social media, which would happen if they disclosed the name (but is already happening anyway) but clearly do have an interest in not dragging other employees/players into something that doesnt concern them, by not omitting the name of the employee.

Proper chip on your shoulder about this, haven't you?

If a Premier League club (or a club of equivalent size) names a player in an ongoing police investigation, a lawyer would argue that they've mobilised their sizable fanbase against the player, therefore jeopardising the chance of a fair trial. Everton absolutely should NOT be naming any names, whether to confirm who it is or deny who it isn't (thereby confirming who it is via elimination).

To be fair to Delph I don't think Everton should have released a statement of any kind, given than media reports only went as far as "Premier League club".

I'd be ticked at the club, too. To be blunt about it, the club did not have to give an age.

In the context of an obviously broken relationship, it's easy from his perspective to infer that the club tossed him under the bus to protect its relationships with other players. Doing that is sensible, from the perspective of the club, because the relationship is broken.

The parties need a divorce, and the sooner the better.

Delph probably has a point as age and then not making the American trip pointed to him.
But it wasn't the clubs fault he was a close contact and if he had gone to America this would never have happened.

I think he may have been told he can leave the RB and is now creating a story around why he is choosing to leave just to save face.

Whatever the reason we can only hope he leaves

Furious at the club? People wouldn't be linking you to the story Fabian if you weren't such an unlikeable, skid-mark of a bloke, and so were hoping it was you and not someone else whom they likely do have time for.

Just do one.
