Fabian Delph

Someone reminded me his contract is up the end of the season.

Audition time so he can get a big fat signing on fee and a bit more wages. Everything that is wrong with modern football right there. He could have pulled his finger out last season to get a move in the summer but no, run down the clock on his massive wedge and then start to play a bit so he gets a free in Jan or at the end of the season.

The fact that we are talking about Delph being an asset to the club infuriates me. Delph turning up and putting a bit of an effort in only highlights the fact that many of our squad are freewheeling. We won’t be a team who can challenge until Delph and players of his type are out of the club. We need Premier League standard players who are prepared to fight for the shirt. West Ham are not a team of world beaters but they are good players playing for their club. We have had a lot of players fulfilling fixtures for years and it now looks like we are trying to change, it will take time but hopefully we continue down this line and the next two transfer windows see us rid ourselves of people who are robbing a living of the club.

Not arguing with you, but he wasn't as bad as I expected. Not amazing but Delph had a bit of nastiness in him.

We've been screaming for that for ages from an everton
side x

Did well in a defensive role and actually shows for the ball when the defence has it which is a rarity. Looked decent of late.

Perma-crock though and given the last couple of years there's no way he should get a new deal if he's up in the summer. He's not gonna get less injury prone at this stage of his career. Some of his his passing is poor at times as well.

It’s surely pure coincidence he’s made 2 appearances and done well now he’s in the last 7 months of his contract?
Long my his resurgence continue - right up to when his contract expires and we can say farewell.
If he continues like this and wangles a new contract then it will be the final nail in Brands coffin I reckon, as sure as anything he’ll be back on physio table before the ink is dry.
