This is exactly what the board wants you to do...unite and continue to spend your well earned hard cash on them. They will call for unity and hope that they keep selling tickets and merchandise. Then once we relegated, there will be a second call for unity to try convince us that unity is needed to mount a championship challenge.

The Club have more or less already won the media battle with Headlock-gate.
The General fan in his seat will never be able to 'Unite' as we all tend to see thing's slightly differently.

The only thing that will concentrate minds 'Upstairs' is a major Boycott which results in acres of empty seats - which will never happen.

I'm just struggling to see how it benefits the board stirring up the fanbase even further still with falsified claims of physical violence. Anyone in their pressurized position would be wanting things to quieten down, not be stirred up further.

What are we all discussing today? Yes, a headlock. We are not discussing "e-mailed threats" to Kenwright. Why is that? Because every leader of every club will have received moronic anonymous abuse - just take a look at Twitter! No, we are discussing the physical assault of a woman - a far more potent image: an image that damages and shames a club's fans - collectively.

Of course, the official club statement mentioned no headlock. So, they have plausible deniability. They can say they never mentioned any headlock. Yet, the accusation - not made explicitly by the club - hangs in the air, so when causal fans read the headlines they draw one quick conclusion: that poor Everton board being intimidated by Scouse thugs.

There's your benefit right there.

This headlock “story” is all over the web. Nearly all major news outlets are running it. It came from “a club source”.

Everton FC show some evidence!

Or admit it never happened and apologise for such disgraceful spreading of fake news at a very bad time for the club.

Yesterday she tweeted a copy of the official club statement i.e. the press release. She added the following.

1/ EFC’s Board of Directors have been instructed not to attend today’s game against Southampton because of a “real and credible threat to their safety and security". Understand CEO Denise-Barrett Baxendale was physically manhandled by a male fan after the Brighton game.

2/ Also understand the Everton CEO’s car was attacked after the defeat to Brighton as she was inside. Misogynist, sexist and threatening language used towards her. A lot of threats directed at the board have been sent to the club and online.

This is the first mention of a headlock on DBB as far as I can find. All other reports seem to come from this.
So she "understands" that these events occured? even though they are not specifically mentioned in the official press release.
Presumably this means that she is claiming to have been told this by somebody.
As far as I can see she has not tweeted anything since the above. She needs to clarify who it was she spoke to and what led her to "understand" this.

Never heard of her. Seems she commentates/covers footy for BBC Radio 5 Live and her last game was the match yesterday. So, she would have been at Goodison. Lives in London, so probably commutes by train to cover matches. Done 15 Everton games according to icdb.tv - Commentators . She's done 44 rs matches, more than double any other club.
