Why stop at one winner? If they feel the need to highlight someone with Special Needs (EITC Fan of the Year anyone?) doesn't that narrow the field down to a Sympathy Contest? I mean who would vote for some random go-every-game fan over someone whose main joy is Everton (heaven help them this season!) as a distraction from a difficult life.

I go to the game with someone who is Autistic (and 54 years old now). He can be quite demonstrative in his support. He doesn't need anyone to tell him he's Fan of The Year!
