Fans set to be allowed to drink alcohol in their seats during matches. Good or Bad move???

I don’t understand where this idea of as soon as you’re allowed in your seat with a beer you’re going to want to throw it?

Ive never thrown a pint in a bar, and in a stadium you’re talking £4.50 a beer, so why am I wasting it? It’s mental.

Ive also been pelted with a cup of tea a couple of seasons ago in the Lower Gwladys, and once with a bottle of Coke. It’s irrelevant. If they’re throwing something, they’re gonna throw it.

But the stigma with alcohol and English football is insane. It prevents crushing, promoting safety (especially at away games) and ultimately won’t make too much of a noticeable difference.

Homecraft Feeding Cups, Drinking and Eating Aid, Safe Plastic, For Elderly/Disabled Users, Standard, 250ml

Apparently these can be filled from below and lids sealed, should help

You won’t, I won’t, the majority of normal people won’t.

Unfortunately it only takes a dozen retards to start & dummies follow.

Yes, it’s wasteful idiotic behaviour, but it’s a thing now.

I mean if you want to throw a £4.50 pint, then you are an idiot.

But aside from young lads in the concourse, I've not seen anyone a bit more mature lobbing them. Just feel as the more time has gone on, the more of a taboo thing drinking inside the arena has become.

You don't suddenly become a yob, as soon as you see the pitch. People argue that "why can't you just wait 45 minutes", well I guess I'd counter it and say how drunk can you get in 45 minutes, which wouldn't have already affected you beforehand, if you were drinking. I don't think the issues would be too much of a concern, but they'd automatically become the blame.

I agree. It’s idiotic!

What I don’t understand is how you’ve missed this going on.

That's a completely different environment, and as a regular concert goer, I've been pelted by pints of all sorts over the years at big events, which attract idiots.

A football game, versus, all day on the lash with your mates in the sun are different. I just don't see the regular match going fan throwing beers on a regular basis.

But this is my issue, fans attending an England game in the park, with no real interest other than it's a major tournament, celebrating "Lads, Lads, Lads" culture are what the media sees. They don't see the regular match going fans, who aren't interested in a piss up, they're interested in watching their team every Saturday, but can't do so with a beer in their hand in fear of being classed as a hooligan.

Well I hope you’re right. I guess we’ll see soon enough.

I’ve never thrown a pint but I have definitely spilt pints at gigs when the music starts getting going
Think of the limbs when Andros hits a worldy against the RS and know that anyone with a pint in hand will end up wearing it and definitely covering those around them too

Spilling a beer, and throwing are two entirely separate things.

Most aways I end up covered in some form of drink when we score, cause the natural reaction is to raise your arms and surge forward knocking everything over. Just don't think it's exclusive to beer.

If Andros Townsend scores a winner for us in the derby, you can throw as much beer on me as you want mind

The people who want to drink watching the game at the same people who get the phones out to film corners incase the team score. Drinking is for the ipad types, youve never experienced a limbs gong every were type moment., they dont celebrate goals because the football is secondary.

Rubbish - you can tell you've never been to a game where you're allowed to have a drink

I don't really drink so it doesn't really effect me. But I can see there being issues tbh. It only takes one or two idiots to make it a bad experience for everyone else around them and and there's a good chance of there being one or two idiots in crowds of 30 or 40k.

Its true, those who want a pint are the same types who give a polite round of applause for a goal and say "good show chaps" pint in one hand, phone in the other and no interest in living in the moment
