Fans set to be allowed to drink alcohol in their seats during matches. Good or Bad move???

With all due respect, that's simply because it seems to bother you, not because it particularly makes any sense

Again, I'd suggest going to Germany in particular and taking in a few domestic games there. They drink more than we do, have more of an active hooligan problem than we do, and having ale at the seats simply isn't really a problem
You mean organized hooligan problem? Outside stadiums? That's a different world from some north face tosser away from mummy and daddy for the afternoon lobbing a beer and acting like a knob.
Besides there is also the health issues, they are encouraging people to drink access levels, and one reason is to make money

not really?

do they? @Billy Dean
Personally, I've seen about five fights in England in the last 20 years at games I've been to (I'm a STH and go to a reasonable number of aways per season).

I've been to German league games at Schalke, Frankfurt, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Monchengladbach and Darmstadt (lots of times) - they still have active "firms" who have fights. In fact I randomly got chatting to one of the Darmstadt "hooligans" (as they call themselves) because he was bemused to hear an English accent at the bar outside the ground, and he proudly told me about the organised fights they had etc and seemed surprised when I told him that this wasn't really a thing in England anymore.

Could easily counter this by saying that not allowing drinking at seats is encouraging binge drinking

Genuinely think you're way off the mark if you think we are massively different in this country than anywhere else

If people want to drink they will drink regardless. At Eintracht they only sell beer in open plastic skiffs, so they're not dangerous if someone lobs one. But I've never really seen fans lobbing them anyway.

The only place it`s a " big thing " now days is at some lower league games, usually outside or in pubs by the grounds.

Some of the lower league teams, still have little firms, normally identifiable by the fact that they all wear Stone Island gear etc.

These are the ones that cause problems at Internationals too.

Believe it or not, rugby league also has a bit of a problem too - Warrington v St Helens can get a bit naughty in the pubs by the ground.

If anyone starts throwing ale in the air at Goodison, there will be hands thrown

Yer just can't see it, most sections of goodison is populated with season tickrt holders who have known each other for donkeys, I know most people around me from going the match not gonna start lashing ale at them.

Will work fine until the first time an opposition whopper gets inudated with plastic pint glasses.

Surely they will add significantly to the clean up job afterwards.
I remember an away game v Coventry at highfield road (think it was January 2001), when Coventry got a corner in front of the away end, there was a large coke cup thrown at the player that was about to take the corner (they had just signed him from the RS). It must have been thrown from 40 yards away as it flew across half the away section and landed smack in between the lads legs. He got the fright of his life, must of jumped two feet in the air.

Hasn't stopped people lashing cups of tea etc

Don't see the problem - Go to Germany, which is the best football watching experience in Europe, and there's no issue with ale in your seat. In fact they supply cardboard beer carriers so you can carry lots at a time

Won't be long (maybe the new stadium) before you can order it to your seat via an app during the game
When we played pre-season in Dresden it was a nice surprise to be able to take your pint to your seat to watch the game.

People get tanked up before and a half time so it may stop people trying to down 2 pints 2 minutes before kick off. I worry about throwing if we keep serving Carling at goodison but maybe a pint of decent beer would be ok.
