Fans set to be allowed to drink alcohol in their seats during matches. Good or Bad move???

Yeah by not allowing drinks in the seated area, its not difficult, if you want a beer stick to pubs and leave the stadiums to fans who want to watch football
I can take it or leave it tbh and only rarely drink before or inside the ground nowdays, unless I'm in a lounge.... However, I've watched football in stadia all around the world and rugby only down the road, with beer freely available. I can even remember being able to drink on the stands/terraces at GP. Not entirely sure why football should be the exception anymore.

I keep hearing this mentioned, looks like it’s happening. I’m all for it, thought it was a stupid rule in the first place.

I just have one problem…. This current idiotic trend of throwing it in the air. I like a pint as much as the next man. I like it so much I “drink it”. I try not to spill any. I prefer not to bathe in it & come out stinking of it.

On balance, I’d rather not drink for 90 minutes than see that retarded bollox anywhere near me.
Good; from a 'freedom' point of view, not withstanding our stupid licencing laws.
Bad from people having to be up and down like a fiddlers elbow as peoples different bladder capacities comes into play

I can't see any reason not to allow drinking in the stadium. The idea that having a couple of pints in your seat is going to make any difference to fan behaviour is pretty weak. I've seen plenty of lads roll in to the stadium absolutely steaming, particularly for evening matches, so it's not like we're talking about changing people's state of mind. Every time I've watched footy in Germany I've had a couple of beers, on a couple of occasions I've been served beer in my seat, I didn't start chucking pint pots on the pitch or behaving any different to any other time I was at the match. I went to a non-league match at the weekend and had a couple of pints in the stand then, too. It's about time they brought it back, imo.

Because the Brits cant drink on mass and act like normal people, the recent Euros being a good example, the majority can, but the minority ruin it for everyone else.

Your making out like 40k are now gonna be getting bevvied at there seat if it was legalised.

Don't think much would actually change, the same people who bevvy at the match now will do so, the same people who don't bevvy will probably continue to do so.

Well if nothing will change it can stay as it is, problem solved.
There is no reason at all to need a beer while the game is on if you actually really want to watch it, if you need a beer stay in the pub.

There's a minority everywhere. Picking on one sport and singling out one country is lunacy.

It'll be fine - people will moan about having to stand up more frequently to let people pass, but other than that you'll barely notice a difference

Anyone lashing ale is on CCTV these days with personal details on file about who bought the tickets - easy enough to ban people if it really comes to that

With all due respect, that's simply because it seems to bother you, not because it particularly makes any sense

Again, I'd suggest going to Germany in particular and taking in a few domestic games there. They drink more than we do, have more of an active hooligan problem than we do, and having ale at the seats simply isn't really a problem

It could stay the same ye, or they could bring it back like every other sport.

I don't drink at the match really myself, the odd occasion if I'm out for the day I'll drink at the game, but I've been to Germany, Spain etc for footy games and it's been calm and sound.

The logic that people will turn into maniacs drinking at there seat, but drinking 50 yards beneath them under the stands they remain sane, you know if they get bladdered at the pub they don't sober up as soon as they walk up the stand?
