Cheers mate.

Jesus, completely forgot you have to order your bench! Thanks for reminding me or I would've left it. I'll take it you're not posting your team? Top secret stuff? ;)

Begovic* Elliott
Bruce(3) Caulker* Blackett(2) Azpilicueta* Chambers*
Young* Arnautovic* Eriksen* Coutinho* Ramsey*
Costa* Rooney* Lukaku(1)

Eriksen, Ramsey, Arnautovic are must have this season I think. Really fancy Stoke to pull up trees this year and he's not a midfielder by any stretch
Chambers is there on a plate for everyone for at least one week, possibly longer.
Stuck with Rom as I have a sneaky that he will start tomorrow, especially given the Barkley news today. He may find his way in ahead of Young in the morning.

Also considered; Barkley (was in the side until this evening), Sigurdsson (itching to get him in), Austin (I fancy him to carry on scoring), Mata (couldn't quite fit him in), Ox-Chamberlain (at £6.5 he could be a bargain when 100% fit), Siem De Jong (another forward/midfielder at £7m), Janmaat (as good as an attacking full back in the league outside of Everton)

Those last two are countered by the Newcastle factor however - give it a few weeks.

I don't aim for it but feel more comfortable with it. If first couple of weeks you get an injury or someone looks amazing you want to buy, a million or two might be the difference between keeping up with the top of your league and falling behind.

Also don't be afraid to play your wild card early if you have an awful start.

A formidable front 3 there. If all 3 of them hit form on any given gameweek you'll be in for a real haul.

Got the same thought processes going on here. Desperate to fit Mata in, Sigurdsson is a steal, Oxlade-Chamberlain could be fantastic (at least until Walcott's back) and my personal favourite is Siem De Jong who is amazingly underpriced for someone down as a midfielder. I want him in my team so badly I'm half tempted to pick him now, even though he's injured.

Arnautovic for one of the first times in his career found a bit of consistency without any controversy and racked up a huge 10 assists. I, like you, think Stoke will have a good season, I'm just wholly uncertain about their defence; only Shawcross and Begovic are 100% nailed on. Only thing is Spurs -- I'd like one of their defenders as I think they'll keep a lot of clean sheets, but I'm going to be patient and see what their first choice team is. Too much guesswork at the moment, hence me going with Cahill -- I HATE paying that much for a CB but Chelsea will keep the most clean sheets and until I see Filipe Luis get back to back starts I'm holding off on him.

I'm never happy with my team -- I'll probably chop and change again tomorrow. Fabregas's position is crucial, as a CM I'll probably end up swapping him for Nasri, Silva or Mata. But if he gets any time off the striker he could be lethal. Ramsey is a must have, even though my gut hates picking a 9.0 CM from a team that has Alexis Sanchez. Young is a bargain as I've said time and time again, and just looks the best way to get into a top side's attacking spoils for a cut price fee. Costa/Rooney are dangerous to not have, though I half-think the former will struggle a bit -- Mourinho strikers are never prolific. Jovetic has been banging them in during pre season, but I'm torn between him, Dzeko, Giroud or even just a budget option. I like to leave at least 0.5 in the bank though to make your one free transfer a week a bit more effective.

Phil Jones?

I spent all day umming and aaahing over Lukaku, Giroud, Dzeko and Jovetic today.
Watch all bar the one I picked get opening day hattricks.

Cesc will do well at #8 or at #10, though if he is going to play #8 (and he is) there are better options.
Stoke backline should be Begovic, Bardsley, Pieters, Shawcross & Marc Wilson. But I'll wait a week to see what actually happens.

Oh and Siem de Jong - I always did like you Rufus!

Was Evans until he got injured. Figured I needed a United defender as they're good value, but I don't want to go for someone like Blackett as I need people who are actually going to be first choice beyond GW1-3, with Cameron/Chambers uncertain. Might swap the former for Wilson though. Was reading up and most Stoke fans seem to be undecided on whether it will be him or Huth at CB, but if it is Wilson he'll be a steal at 4.5!

I'd have Mata it's just that there's no Young in Chelsea's team; i.e someone cheap who'll be playing for sure, and with Rooney being probably the most essential player, that'd be too United heavy. And Man City's start is a bit iffy, whereas Chelsea's is a lot nicer. I think I'll end up swapping him out eventually but Burnley is about as easy as it's going to get for him and Costa to start their Chelsea careers off well.

Just changed Terry for Cahill as I think he's more likely to play every week in the league.

Definitely. Though Terry is a bigger goal threat, I suspect Ivanovic and hell, even Zouma, will be rotated at CB with Terry.

Ideally I'd like Courtois but I know if I put him in my team Cech will play!
