Are you suggesting that BK or someone else at the club would write and release a statement with the majority shareholders name on it with having got approval to issue it ?

All depends on how much involvement that majority shareholder actually wants mate.

So far, we've spent money we've raised from selling Stones. Do you think we will spend a subsequent 100m? 75m? Even 50m?

For me, no chance. The press release has gone out and now everyone's in soak again.

It's not that at all.

It reeks of Kenwright - a person who we were told had little to no involvement.

Do you honestly think a billionaire, friend to the slightly sinister, accountant, has just said "here you go Bill, here's 100m, spend it after you've sold Stones though you rascal, and all I ask is that I get to send out press releases praising you and the guys"??

The only surprising omission is that biff Elstone
Haha, you honestly suggesting anyone else other than Moshiri has decided to release that statement?

There is no way in the memory of man that this statement has been issued without the full approval of Farhad Moshiri, no way at all. He might not have written it personally, but he will have approved it being issued with his name on it.

But why Friend.

Those are the questions.

Why now when he's been utterly shtum since Chelsea

But what would that achieve other than putting added pressure on them? We have just signed a player for a fee that could rise to 28m. If you are not going to add more players why would you put yourself in a position where fans can vent frustration for the lies that were told, surely you would not put out a press release and just leave the fans to bask in the matching of our club record fee.

For me its a statement of intent from the owner, not only to the fans but to other players and clubs saying that we are back and we are going to spend a fair wedge to get us challenging up the table again.

I don't disagree that the timing may be a little strange, or maybe Moshiri is giving clear intentions to the transfer market that we're not done yet and if we see a target we're really keen on, we're coming for that target.

I honestly don't know, but having worked in pro sports, let me assure that such a statement would never, ever be issued without full, prior knowledge and approval.

Image is good, stadium is good, quality squad is essential. I'd rather watch a quality team at Goodison than a load of dross kicking around in a big stadium. This is the first since the CL season that would really, really make a difference and would be a massively missed opportunity if we didn't greatly improve our squad.

Instead we are in danger of having our worst transfer window in a long, long time, despite having the most amount of available money ever. Its pretty poor so far.

That being said, I am in no way against Moshi, can't wait to see what the future holds, but so far its been very anticlimactic imo and I can fully understand why people are getting annoyed at none of the vast stacks of cash we are sitting on being spent on improving what actually matters... Our football team.

not over yet and Moshiri's statement on SKY says a lot regarding intent. Patience mate, this is Moshiri's first full season and also the same for Koeman and Walsh. It does take time and cannot be done overnight.

When was it we went multiple transfer windows not bringing in a permanent player for money?
