Genuinely have no idea what's going on here.

On the one hand, I can't believe Jim White would make it up.

On the other hand, why the [Poor language removed] would our Chairman - whose barely said a word in public since he arrived - start texting that yellow-tie-wearing-fandan like they're best mates and Farhad's wondering if Jim can come over to his for tea tonight.

It makes even less sense for a smart, business savvy man like Moshiri to count his chickens before they've hatched, especially in terms of football transfers where nothing is done until there's a pic on on the official website.

And if it does turn out to be true and Moshiri was just trying to stir a little excitement up from the fans (which is fair enough if he pulls it off), it still doesn't excuse that absolute monstrosity of statement which makes the entire club look like total amateurs.

indeed, but they don't usually include actual quotes !

i find it hard to believe the text is legit but i find it even harder to believe that even Jim White would be dumb enough to post that without it being legit.... you don't go making up quotes and posting them on social media when you work in his position.

So why not screen shot the text then? Why is it in a mobile note app? Every way this is presented leads to no evidence that this is actually real.

And the premise of the body of the text. We decided against Sissoko as it would have jepordised McCarthy's place. If that is the case, why did we buy Gana? He is a direct threat to McCarthy. Why did we buy Bolaise? He is a threat to Lennon, Mirallas and Geri. It is all so ridiculous I am holding it as a complete fake until such time as an actual statement comes out to that effect.

Otherwise, it is just conjecture.

Moshiri the Madman, he might just be crazy enough to pull this off......

Picture of Kenwright and Moshiri deciding how to spin this:

....my concern is the possible dependency on Stones going before we spent. Lots of high-profile links in the early window but none landed. We've broken our transfer record but it's hard not to feel a little underwhelmed given the names banded about.

On the playing front I still fear we will be no better than mid-table, I think we need to see some real action and not words on the stadium. The jury has to be out for me, time will tell if we have the real deal.

no we haven't. Or do you mean total window spend?

You don't need to tell me it's weird, it's utterly bizarre but i honestly don't believe he's just made that up, reckon he's been mugged off somehow.

Someone's taking him for a ride. Surely Moshiri would just use the club if he wanted to make a statement (like he did previously). If it isn't him, however, and White is being mugged off, the club need to come out and tell us these aren't Moshiri's words, don't they?

One thing the club is awful at since Myers left is comms.

One of the best things about 2013/14 was his honesty and willingness to tackle fans' concerns head on.

IMO, there's no way that the Moshiri comment can be real. It beggars belief

only an idiot would blame him. We were going into the last day expecting kone for about £20m, sissoko for £30m, brahimi for about £35m and gabbidiani for about £20m.

All 4 were due to the player or the selling club shafting us, not because moshiri didn't put his hand in his pocket. Blame those in control of the final stages of transfers, not the man who's funding it.

Which, when you are supposed to be a "respectable" journalist (seriously, i had to really try to keep a straight face when typing that), is probably worse than just making something up.
