I feel I'm entitled to this one.

No actually, I think you can improve a side without spending big by being smart - otherwise I wouldn't be concerned by the Hart fee or the Bolasie one.

No, what I'm saying is in response to those who think we're going to spend big because Moshiri is here, not in response to what I think is the right way of going about things. I'm saying that there's no evidence that Moshiri is going to bankroll us, so those who believe he will should hold a healthy scepticism until he does, instead of blindly expecting him to smash records all over the shop and so on.

My actual concerns? The lack of a statement signing - just one - that would have made our intent clear early in the window; that we could bring in players without having to sell first. That has now gone, so my major concern now is that incomings have only happened after the sale of Stones, which makes me worry about the future in terms of our ability to make smart signings without having to sell, not big signings.

And?

I'm talking about the here and now. What I'm saying applies to now and every day of the window - basically I'm advocating caution until stuff actually happens, instead of blindly hoping it happens based on next to nothing. Again, I don't understand the outrage at that stance - it's akin to someone on RAWK suggesting they might not win the league.

I'm pretty sure that's exactly what I'm doing...

And "attacking" who? What have I done to "attack" someone? If anything, it's the other way around - for example, you are the one here on the attack.

The fact you say the club are keeping everything internal is exactly my point - we know nothing, so we should temper expectations until we know something!

Can you answer me this? Why could we suddenly spend almost £30m on Bolasie and £12m on Williams once Stones had gone, but couldn't pull the trigger on a major transfer beforehand? Doesn't that raise the slightest doubt in your mind about where we are financially?

Because it does for me. Doubts, not "Moshiri is a fraud WAH" levels of doubt, but doubt nevertheless.

What is the shocking crime of having a bit of caution as to what's going on, given what we have seen with a completely wasted July and the transfer window rapidly coming to an end?

No actually, I'm saying, outright, that we, the fans, all of us, know nothing about Everton's finances. Because of that, we should use our bloody brains and acknowledge we know nothing, so wait before blindly making assumptions until we know something.

I'm not saying you're wrong if you believe Moshiri will suddenly make it rain and we'll blow £150m on transfer deadline day or whatever, but what I'm saying is that, in my view, it's silly to expect that to happen, because you are coming to that conclusion based on nothing.

It's now 23 August and to all extents and purposes we've barely spent a penny in a season with a record TV deal. With that in mind, I'll refer to my original point - Moshiri hasn't spent anything yet. Just saying.

Because the transfer window doesn't consist of solely Jim White adorned in a yellow tie mate.

When big money is involved, stay cynical.

I'd say there's next to no chance that a journalist in White's position is being fed quotes which lets face it, aren't going to be mainstream headline grabbers, for an elaborate wind up. In fact, to think so is bordering on delusional for me.

I think we all need to quit the denial and accept that he's made an incredibly daft statement to a journalist in an attempt to try and save face
I think you're undertaking some Inception style windup within a windup. Surely you can't be for real?

The Sissoko thing reeks to high heaven for me.
Something not right at all.
The timing of it - with not a whisper of it going pete tong until 10pm on the dot and then suddenly bang - spurs are in and by 11pm he's holding up the shirt.

Here's an interesting question - how much money did sky bet take on Sissoko to Everton for those couple of hours between us being favourites and Spurs "coming back in".

And if we WERE in for Sissoko, then why if we were always planning to keep McCarthy? Why were we suddenly loyal to this "member of the family" at 10pm if we'd be trying to spend £30m on replacing him for the previous couple of hours?

None of this adds up at all and I haven't a clue what to think.

Also think Moshiri/Koeman need to issue some sort of statement given they were both anxious - by their own admission - to make more signings and or just hasn't happened. An explanation and reassurance would be good.

Every major paper and sports broadcaster are running with this now.

We are being humiliated on a national scale.

It is beyond doubt the most bizarre excuse I have ever heard.
He's leaning the BK bullcrap well from the master watch this spacelol
What a pathetic excuse as soon as we had alledgely signed Sissoko three clubs made enquiries for JM yet even the he was still coming to us only when Spurs signed him we withdrew the deal that's how the events unfolded under Jim S@ite! On SKy set up like a kipper , and still digging holes laughing stock!

There's a contradiction in your stance. Let me point it out to you.

You say the quotes aren't mainstream headline grabbers, ie not of much interest and unlikely to be reported.

So why would moshiri text him if he wanted to get out the message he was protecting McCarthy? He just texted him in the vague hope white would report it?

Come on, anyone who believes this text has come from moshiri is borderline mental.

It's possible. Just saying I want more than a text message to Jim White about it, given Everton are supposed to be a professional business and have their own media channels.

I have no doubt we're capable of being complete amateurs, as we've proven lately, but I need more proof than a Jim White tweet that our chairman is a confirmed clown of the highest order.

Isnt Bill still Chairman? If so, I doubt any of us require any further proof.

In all likelihood there was money available. As indicated above though we do have to think about perception in all of this. If we have people negotiating deals or involved who are that incompetent they really can't have a future with the business any longer.

Making mistakes is forgiveable if painful. However what is now needed is a very clear message to those involved that their performance over the last 3 months isn't good enough and it's time for them to move on. This also needs to be done sooner rather than later as otherwise the rot will set in, the same rot that has existed for 15 years previously. The rot that manifests itself as "plucky Everton" if we leave things to deadline day and don't bring anyone in it doesn't matter as we tried our best.

I will nail my colours to the maste but I think the blame for this lies with Kenwright and Elstone, who have overseen similar shambles. I can see no future for them in the future Everton want to build and it is time for them to leave the board over the coming weeks. Their presence at the club will drag the rest of it back to their level. Moshiri needs to act decisively or he really risks losing the confidence of supporters.
Absolutely spot on
