He's there advising Moshiri.Except he hasn't
Gooooot evenings jimmmmShould of knew the signs when he appeared on Sky Sports deadline day that year sounding like a cross between a Bond villain and a sex pest.
But what level of manager could we attract? City are backed by country we are just one of many clubs with a billionaire. It depends what you want we went down the long term project route it will take time. Whilst I see the point we need a winning coach but bringing in a more experienced coach as seen with BFS is they demand experienced players and players from the EPL which is expensive and the sad truth is I am not sure the level of manager you would want would actually come to Everton. We are a rung below top level so that is the talent pool of managers who will apply or we can attract. He was a step up from Eriksson at the time for them.
Goran-Eriksson > Hughes > Mancini > Pelegrini > Guardiola
Martinez > Koeman > Allardyce > Silva
We have basically replaced a relegation seasoned pro with a mid tabled seasoned pro, to a relegation battling seasoned pro to another relegation battling seasoned pro.
Progress and ambition right there.
This is why we will never progress.
I agree with parts of this but we can't keep in putting barriers up as to why we can't reach the top 6. Leicester will be giving it a good go this season and they are in no position to attract better players than us. The difference is that they got Rodgers. He's a proven manager used to winning at the top end of the premier league. If Leicester do finish in the top 6, it will be due to the appointment of Rodgers. Yes, we can't attract established star players but we can attract the Richarlisons of this world. Liverpool bought Mane, Salah and Firmino who were all nowhere near the level they are at now. They were all around 30 mill and gettable I would say by teams trying for the top 6 (maybe not Salah who was at Napoli). Lets not make excuses. Success is deemed by good management and good recruitment. Both of ours is poor.....But what level of manager could we attract? Rodgers will inevitably extract the most out of that young squad he's got..I agree with parts of this but we can't keep in putting barriers up as to why we can't reach the top 6. The invisible man.
Never seen at GP anymore and has given up.
We are doomed to rot in midtable forever.
While I didn’t expect us to dramatically improve in a short space of time, we have clearly regressed.
Have no clue what’s gone on behind the scenes, can only comment on what’s out there in public. We are way behind. It’s alright saying we were better with no money (personally I didn’t like the knife to a gun fight mentality surrounding that ), it’s the people making the decisions that’s the problem. We needed the money, what we didn’t need is more cases of one step forward and two or three back.
I don't blame him because he puts his money on the table, but it's just not working.
Never has money wrecked a club so badly.
If he was more humble and took a careful and thoughtful approach it would be one thing. But he just seems like another of these arrogant big money owners who have flooded into the gameI don't blame him because he puts his money on the table, but it's just not working.
Never has money wrecked a club so badly.
