We say that every few years. We've been in transition since the 90s. We've been clearing deadwood since the 90s and now we are "resetting" for the millionth time.

Moshiri brought in a DoF with a view to creating a stable platform and culture at the club. He then chose his own managers every single time and he and those managers have pretty much dictated all of our transfers. We have lurched from one style to another, from one disaster to another. That is on moshiri. Brands should go just because he has just gone along with it.

We are not in transition apart from the new manager, we have a semi decent team - yes Moshiri has been part of the problem but without him we would have had next to nothing and likely covid would have killed us completely.

Better to try and fail than not try at all. As I have always said money does not equal success, you can't just pick up the best players off the shelf, they have to want to come and at the moment there are still 5 or 6 teams in this league along that they'd rather go to. Us being forced to shop around the bargain bin isn't a bad thing as we can get some stability in not having wholesale changes in the team and we are buying hungrier players instead of the ones that are of a higher profile.

But you never go all in from a spending point of view and leave yourself snookered. That is embarrassing for a highly regarded businessman to do.

If the company you work for went bust tomorrow and the company owners said "it's not our fault. We tried. It's the managers who ruined us". You'd question why they sat back and allowed it to happen.

I get that but in football there is a strike while it's hot moment. We did and failed from a stand point of getting Europe to earn more money this season. There was also a good chance Kean was going to be sold for decent money that would have freed up funds to do our business this season.

It's not excuses it's just what it is. The club obviously have some cash it's not like we are completely broke - but Rangers have turned down an 8 million bid, Arsenal blocked a player from coming and Porto are playing hardball. How many more names do we go down the list before it's just panic buying?

The answer isn't stopping spending money though. The answer is spending money better.

No complaints from me on that, but haven't we done that over the last 12 months? It's the previous two years that killed us and some of that money will come back from Kean but it's over the next few years. Covid not only knocked our income but also took away other clubs ability to come in and get our players.
