Bill didn't care who he sold it to as long as he was to remain in a position of relative power. If he didn't care who he sold us to we would be Man City right now.
I heard that is the case but no idea if it is true - at the time Man City had a new stadium and were probably no less marketable world-wide than Everton (sorry to say but that is what it is since the 90s when PL was globalised).

Totally agree, but he's rare. Not many people are gifted a couple of billion pounds.
There was a dominant ethnic tribe that where behind the bolshevik revolution. These people held power for decades in the soviet union.

When their power was taken back by the Russian people in a last ditch attempt to hold power, this ethnic tribe who was dominant went from removing their outright dictatorship from the back of the Politburo to an oligarchy.

Usmanov as well as Abramovich where indirect benefactors of this change. There is a case many people under this circumstances got 'gifted couple billion' for nothing.

The sources of Moshiri's wealth in my opinion is being made partner in various lucrative businesses and being in the right place at the right time. That's not to say he does not have guile and done well for himself.

But personally I am very hesitant to give him great credit as a good business man, more of an opportunist who's took this outlook into football.

I agree there are probably more 'lunatic' billionaires out there than you would care to imagine. Especially in today's society which is far more 'wild west' financially than years gone by.

It's evidenced by Moshiris total disconnect from reality. The average person looks at him with total confusion over his decision making and thought processes. To him he sees nothing wrong. Wouldn't want to speculate but god only knows what they think about other matters of life.

Also in my opinion, you don't become a Billionaire without being a total psychopath or sociopath.

and what "tribe" would that be?

Moshiri wanting to sell probably because at this moment he has 100% exposure to Everton and every decision he made is not working out. The funny part is he is a reverse Mike Ashley. I don't think fans hates him or aggressively want him out - fans just want him to listen and hire the right personnel. History has shown that owning and managing Everton requires flexibility and not stubborn ego.

That should mean Moshiri should just take a step back, no more forcing players to manager, no more hiring managers that nobody approves (including his own advisors!). Hire a club legend who is true blue at heart - because this is the person he can trust but he probably does not.

Problem with Moshiri is he looks at CV but ignore the human factor in football. Hiring Benitez, Koeman, Carlo, Brands, etc. they don't actually care about Everton - and will bail the minute things get difficult. Managing a football club requires passion as the baseline.

Managers like Duncan Ferguson, and Wayne Rooney will unite the fans, the players and the board. Although, they do not boast a strong CV, they can bring back the feel-good factor of the club. I hope Moshiri sees that - and since he wants out, why not just give them a shot and see what they can do. The way Graham Potter rejected Everton publicly, hurts but should be a wake-up call to Moshiri.

I do not know what to expect next with Duncan Ferguson, Rooney or Lampard as the manager, but I just hope we survive relegation this season.
