The buzz at goodison when we spent a lot the summer periods was quality. There’s a video on YouTube for I think Watford first game (they even got flames pre match)

everything was looking good including marketing such as having James on Times Square and other key locations which is definitely not a cheap thing to do

Not many questioned when we got Rooney kalssen etc

Funnily enough at the first game v stoke with Koeman and we were just chasing shadows I said this isn’t looking good and the fella in front told me to stop being negative.

I’m in the camp that Moshiri (Usmanov) would have been successful in the end if it wasn’t for Putin.

I was also sceptical of DBB becoming CEO but she won me over with her work on the new stadium and the goodison legacy “how do we leave goodison - the answer is we don’t, we leave a legacy”. Also her proactive response to when COVID was coming was impressive.

We also would have had an inflated stadium naming rights from USM which Usmanov said him self. Spurs still haven’t been able to get one. (But I’m a firm believer that due to the iconic location, cruise liners going past pretty much every week and being used for the euros will get us something decent (yes I know we can’t use the sponsor for the euros but the company logo will be plastered on the sides and potentially the roof).

All of our sponsors came from connections to Usmanov apart from Cazoo as that was the only genuine income we could have got.

If Newcastle lose the Saudis tomorrow they will be more screwed as they have a company that was born last year as their shirt sponsor and nobody knows that they are.

I know oligarch money isn’t ethical but it was our only chance to get serious investment. I also think potentially with a new government coming in they will be less likely to allow corrupt nations buying football teams.

Kenwright being allowed to stay as chairman held us back incredibly. The Russian who was our CFO (I think) not too long ago had a fall out with him as he wanted to make us a more global club but Bill wanted to keep us as the local peoples club.

Either way what’s happened was due to a foreign conflict and we need to move on and be more positive.

We’re nearly finished building a world class stadium which will be the envy of the football world - people working on it are saying it will be one of the best in the world and on a huge tourism site.

Some chatter on one of the podcasts this week that Moshiri is back involved in a hands on capacity this past couple of weeks. The fact we have an interim CEO (who also has a stadium delivery role), interim CFO and arguably token board members might have forced him back to work in terms of ensuring whats left of his equity is maintained until a sale is eventually finalised.

The longer the 777 impasse drags on, eventually they have to call a halt to advancing us 10-20m monthly, there will have to be a point even they wont go past. Which may see Moshiri having to put his hands back in his pocket starting in the near future.

He needs to lower his price and get lost.

He does indeed, but if he's starting to show an interest you wonder if now he has secured all or most of the remaining BMD funding via loans rather than investment he maybe sees the light at the end of the tunnel and might cling on until it's open and we are a more investible proposition for him to recoup on.

He will do what gets him the biggest return, he’s very volatile, reactive and unpredictable, it’s hard to know with him, but if he’s starting to get involved in operations again, I’d speculate it could be an acceptance that 777 aren’t about to take operational control, though in fairness we’re all working on here say.

Hard to know were we are on stadium funding mate, I think we’d be aware if a new charge appeared against the club - not sure we have much else to use in security. What we believe is Moshiri may have funded. 200 mill, MSP 140, 777 £180 - some of that was prob used for working capital mind. We don’t really know the final stadium bill, anywhere between £500 - £750 mill.

I don’t know what else we could use to guarantee a loan at this stage. I believe Moshiri is also pretty toxic to lenders.

Weirdly it will be far easier to manage our debt and get credit when the stadium is built.

Absolutely deluded. The lot if it. The bit in bold takes the biscuit though as you're literally contradicting yourself in the same sentence.
