Absolutely - psychology is everything in sport.

Look at this "performance" from these players - nothing whatsoever as they have mentally no cause to play for.

Binning this fraud and sending the message that we won't tolerate rubbish managers will tell the fans we mean business, tell the players we mean business and, importantly, send the message to potential managers that we mean business.

Keeping this for as long as we have gives the impression we're happy with the situation.

Can't see him going tonight but agree with every word of this. It's been handled very very poorly and is becoming a real embarrassment now. Regardless of his plans and how things apparently will be done much more professionally in future, this is a black mark on Moshiri's reign at the very outset.

Because they most likely dont think an interim manager for 2-3 games makes much difference and they probably save money by parting mutually after the season ends.
Can only be a financial matter after all, as nothing else is worth the damage they are presently doing to the club and its fans, and to the perception of no backbone they are forming for themselves.

I think the damage thing is overblown to be honest. Everyone knew the season was over after the fa cup semi.

People talking about it being a financial thing... how much league money has he lost us this season?

2m payoff for Martinez is about 3 places in the league. Any other manager, literally anybody, could have come in ages ago and had us finish top half easily.

Needs to make a statement and show we don't tolerate being routinely embarraseed on a regular basis.

Needs to show some guts and git rid tonight.

Bill needs to go right now too. I hope the clap clap clap brigade all do one too. The man has been a disgrace for the club. Over a decade of mediocre garbage spun as incredible success.

If keeping him til the end of the season denies him another £2million in compensation, then I will happily wait until 1 minute after the final whistle against Norwich for Mosh to come on to the pitch during the lap of 'honour' and personally hand him his papers in front of everyone at Goodison.
