If dowell, holgate, Pennington, Davies etc are good enough they will make it. Hopefully watching and learning from Koeman and from players in training of the stature of scherderlein, witsel, mata will make them better players. If their improvement doesn't warrant them first team opportunities, they will still be better for the experience of learning from these players. Just imagine dowell watching, training and learning from mata. That experience will be invaluable to the lad. If he doesn't progress to the first team here, he will take his craft elsewhere and Everton will make a profit on the player. Dont be naive to suggest Koeman won't give youth a chance, but the landscape has changed now at Everton. The bar has been raised significantly with regards to standards.
