No mate, as I've clearly stated, my view is one of pragmatism and guarded optimism. Which is prudent considering what has happened before, what is happening often in English football, and comparing his resources to those he's competing against.

The imminent glory kopiteism needs to be culled until we've won some stuff. Here's to that and soon.

Fair enough mate, it's all about opinions really.

Was fortunate to have been old enough to appreaciate fully our mid 80's successes mate, and i'd rather see us as heading back to that day than becoming the new villa, newcastle etc

Can understand why your being cautious though, but the reputation of the new owner makes him far removed from the worst of the owners we've seen in this league IMO anyway and for that we can be very optimisitic.

Imminent glory or confidence that we are heading strongly in the right direction, it's a fine line between the two, one see's you become a fat mess of a Geordie, the other see's you become a team that can actually win some stuff and become a driving force in the game again.

I have to agree with my beautiful friend chico-beaut. I like him, am very happy about what we are hearing from the likes of @TheEsk But as ov now, nothing has happened. Im 37 now, and have seen far to many false dawns to get to excited. All the talk of clearing debt an spending £100 million plus is all well and good. But untill its been done i'll hold reservation....

I truly hope this is a new dawn, but ive been laughed at to many times before for thinking it could be possible.....

Esk can see into the future now?

Some talent that.

Yes without doubt. But that's not the point. I'm not questioning Esk's ITKness.

I'm saying chill yo beans a little. We are behaving like kopites/geordies salivating over new owners.

Everton competing at the top consistently and then I'll laud it like it deserves.

This is rubbish.

Everyone's been clearly told to remain calm but hopeful in regards to what has happened / is happening.

The early nonsense of us spending ridiculous amounts on ridiculous players has died down thanks to Esk calming it down considerably.

Think you calling the forum's current behaviour: 'Kopites/Geordie beauts'

Is way out of line. But that's part of the course with you at the moment isn't it.

Everyone's allowed an opinion, i agree with him. weve done nothing yet. NOTHING!!!! not saying it wont happen. Look, we thought Martinez was the real deal, the school of science back an all that..

That worked out well didnt it!!

There is some grounds for optimism.

It's only day 2 of the window and there's probably a lot of distractions at the moment due to holidays and the Euros.

There's a happy middle though. Between getting "Everton premier league champions 16/17" tattooed on your face and treating Moshiri like a Nigerian Prince making contact through email.

I'm not thinking we're suddenly Barcelona, but I'm positive for once. I'm letting myself dream a little. In terms of actual actions we've seen Roberto ousted and Koeman come in. That's positive. We've seen BK more out of the hotseat. That's positive. We've seen Tim Howard and Osman leave. That's beautiful.

Seriously though, yes, we shouldn't be acting like Teds to fans of other clubs, acting like Newcastle or West Ham fans. But we can still be positive. If we spend too long fearing it'll go tits up, we could forget to enjoy the ride!

Absolutely agree mate, im very optimistic. The fact were getting linked to worl class players and not maybes from crazy leagues bodes well for us. But i'll just wait untill i unzip and windmill. This really just seems to be a new dawn were we compete again..

Maybe im just to scared to believe it. wait an see.

It's normal. As you want the very best for Everton.

I can say I know for a fact a lot of club CEOs/agents/players are only just coming back off holiday during this week.

It's this and after this coming week we should see things hot up. In a reasonable Esk kind of way.
