If, and it's a big If at this stage, Friedkin clears the majority of the debt, then we have got a new stadium technically for nothing.

He also brought Ancelotti and James to Everton. He deserves some respect. Plenty of owners have taken clubs to the wall and tried to wring them out for every last bit of cash on the way through the exit door. He tried, lost his financial backing and couldn't keep up thereafter. It was a set of extraordinary set of circumstances that brought the club to its knees, he could have made better decisions for sure, but I'm equally sure he wasn't thinking it was going to go THAT tits up.

The Moshiri nightmare nearly over. I think we have to be grateful for him for the new stadium whether he pays for it or whether he doesn't, I don't think we would have moved if he wasn't owner. Kenwright would have spent years longer searching for the right owner for himself and thus we'd still be at Goodison
with no plans to move.

"Thanks for the stadium but..." is cracking me up here. Like Everton building a stadium on the docks was going to happen anyway, they were queuing up to build it.

He pumped loads of money into the club and wasted shed loads of it on poor recruitment and bad appointments. Some PR disasters in there and flirtations with relegation. Ultimately got killed by sanctions outside of his control and ridiculously aggressive FFP restrictions.

He's a bit of a moron when it comes to football, but thanks to BMD he's one of the most important morons in our history.

In an alternative universe Gomes & Gbamin don't get crocked, play for a season under Marco Silva like they did for ONE match,
Kenney, Dowling, Davies & Lookman developed into the world beaters they were for their age group....

...nah, just wannabe "Gooner" chairmen who lost at Bill's musical chair farce.

I don't have much problem with Moshiri other than he trusted Kenwright too much and overspent. He has delivered on his stadium promise and
it's fair to say that if this goes through then he will have found us a more football savvy owner than Kenwright did.

The Farhad Moshiri Moshpit will be a not-at-all-fitting monument to his mismanagement, but as bad as he has been (and boy, was he a car crash), the gleaming new edifice on the dock will ensure he will still go down as a far more consequential owner than any we have had since Sir John Moores.

Yup, that's how bad it's been at Everton.
